I can read, write and speak in English, and a little Spanish. Still trying to learn Portuguese.
And I can read french and italian in a supeficial, "enough" amount (no speaking and no writing, though).

Oh, and I am capable of understanding a little bit of a weird unknown language spoken by Laura.

I took the RED PILL!

English is my primary language. I took many years of secondary school French, so in theory I speak French but my experience is that the French do not think I speak any French! I took one semester of German, and by experience with Germans being very patient people they have listened politely to my dictionary bunglings and then offer to speak English  I speak some Cantonese, a little Mandarin, and I read a little (very little) Chinese.

I know Morse Code, and have some working knowledge of C++, Fortran, BASIC, and LOGO. I also speak Border Collie. "That'll do. Good boyyyy!"

Manfred

P.S.: Ped, I know what you mean about Laura's language. We learned daughter #1's weird 2 year old language, and then had to re-learn a whole other dialect when #2 came along. Apparently there is no relationship between sibling's languages if the years are spread too far apart!

EDIT: Oh yeah, three years of Latin in school!

Finnish beeing my natice language I apparently can some English also. Reading is fine and I understand all I hear but speaking English has some difficulities. In school we had to study Swedish because thats other official language of Finland. I haven't been speaking it ever since. English works just fine in Sweden also.

I have studied basicks of Mandarin somethimes but have allready forgot most. I know basicks of Latin and now I'm studying Hebrew. In Russia I can say "Excuse me. Whose is this plastick bag?"

I like German language but havent really had time to study it. Except by reading Commando comimics as a kid. www.commandocomics.com/collection My faworite phrase is "Halt! Ich töte dich englisches
schweinehund!"

I can speak and read a bit of German. I tried learning Spanish, but got sidetracked along the way. I do love the abilities language provides. To understand and be understood around the globe would be pretty cool. Perhaps this is a new personal goal.
