And, by the way, I am just as good in chess as I am in Dogfight - a minor so-and-so.

I will give it a try. I have played some chess but I never was just good at it lol. My main problem is i am alwase asking how can I move this guy again lol.

Well, as two friends already posted in few minutes, I believe it will become more pratical to put here the instructions, instead of sending PMs to each one with the same text.

There is an option for free-membership, a little limited, but functional.

Id love to, bit saddly i suck at chess. One time i was in check after only 6 moves

I love to play the game though. Just not much of a match.

The link doesn't work for non-registered users... I will see if there is a fix for that.

One more thing: My average time per move is 1 hour. But sometimes I take more than 24 hours to play, so be patient. Some games take weeks to finish! You better open more games, with other players, to compensate it.
And set your account to send you and e-mail for each new move by your opponents.

Chess moves and basic ideas and principles are not that hard to learn. But as I don't have didacticism, I can't help. There are many sites and free-ebooks on the net about basic Chess, D.O.

Edit: About the links for the games, sadly they changed the site mechanic. Some years ago, even non-members were allowed to see the public games; now, they are only for member's eyes...

Yeah my average move time is about 30 seconds I just hope I don't forget and time out...I have it set for emails...

To all: What about a private tournament between dogfight players?

Edit: according to the gameknot rules, to be able to join a tournament, a free-membership player must have at finished at least 6 games, with at least 3 victories. And a free-membership allows the player to join only one tournament at a time. So, if you guys want to take part on the tournamente, keep playing, and when you reach the minimum requirements, let me know, and I will set it up.
But if you want, we can make our own tournament, using the gameknot as a board, but managing the table from here. Let me know what you think.
I can even think about a prize for the winner...

Thanks for the game Ped you play very well I just got lucky with the skewer. I only ever got to about 1400 and then I would blow a lot of games with silly blunders. I'm in for a tourney but I but there is at least 1 1800 or better here. One of my boomerang buddies is a 2100! I look forward to our next game...I sent you a request. Good game Ped.

It will last for months, and as you have a free-membership, you cannot play two tournament simultaneously.

sry whip. I just thought he was winning because he had captured more pieces. Didnt really pay attention to what was captured.

Don't worry about it...I should know that in chess it isn't always obvious who's winning.
