Today, I was surfing the interwebs, and came across a lot of great quotes. I figured what better way to share than start a thread. These are some of my favorites. Feel free to post your own or your favorites, of any type, humor, wisdom, government (grrrr  )

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt" -Mark Twain

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe" -Albert Einstien

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" -Edmund Burke

"There has to be evil so good can prove its purity above it" -Buddha

"Honest disagreement is often a sign of progress" -Mahatma Gandhi
"Age is an issue of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter" -Mark Twain

I don't know if this one is a quote but its more of a story I red in one of the AG Magazines my dad gets.

So the owner of some store like Walmart is getting after this Elderly man because he came to work late. Boss guy "I know you are a veteran of the United States Military. So tell me what did they tell you when you showed up so late?" Elderly man. " Good morning Admiral how would you like your coffee."

I thought it was a good one lol. They did not give names so sorry about that.

For me, these are the most touching, beautiful and wise words ever spoken in Portuguese:

"Quando eu era cristão e queria lutar contra a miséria, meu dia começava com um Padre-Nosso. Tinha fome de divindade. Hoje, ainda luto contra a miséria, mas meu dia começa com um Pão Nosso. Tenho fome de humanidade."

Translated by Google (with a little correction made by me):

"When I was a Christian and wanted to fight against poverty, my day started off with an 'Our Father'. Was hungry for divinity. Today, still fighting against misery, but my day starts with an 'Our Daily Bread'. I hunger for humanity."

misunderestimated is that even a word lol. G.W Bush was a good president don't get me wrong but he did have a bad stutter. I would take him as president over Obama anyway.

"...Get used to believing that death is nothing to us. For all g o o d and bad consists in sense-experience, and death is the privation of sense-experience. Hence, a correct knowledge of the fact that death is nothing to us makes the mortality of life a matter for contentment, not by adding a limitless time [to life] but by removing the longing for immortality. For there is nothing fearful in life for one w h o has grasped that there is nothing fearful in the absence of life. Thus, he is a fool w h o says that he fears death not because it will be painful w h e n present but because it is painful w h e n it is still to come. For that which while present causes no distress causes unnecessary pain w h e n merely anticipated. So death, the most frightening of bad things, is nothing to us; since w h e n w e exist, death is not yet present, and w h e n death is present, then w e do not exist. Therefore, it is relevant neither to the living nor to the dead, since it does not affect the former, and the latter do not exist. But the many sometimes flee death as the greatest of bad things and sometimes choose it as a relief from the bad things in life. But the wise man neither rejects life nor fears death. For living does not offend him, nor does he believe not living to be something bad. And just as he does not uncon-ditionally choose the largest amount of food but the most pleasant food, so he savours not the longest time but the most pleasant..."
