Well I was just informed that dogfight has been released for Windows 8 which is what I was waiting for that to happen because I recently was gifted a windows 8 Tablet and was forced to hand down the pied. So thanks z I just have to wait awhile because I have to link a card with my Microsoft account. ill be sure to leave a review if all goes well. :)

Not sure I'm a fan as this will give a tremendous advantage for players with a big screen and joystick. If its to be fair, it should be limited to a screen no larger than ipad or have a dedicated server...mark my words, this could be the end of DF if it becomes impossible for even MORAF's to shoot down players on windows

you haven't tried playing with your phone or tablet connected to a 60" TV? I've considered it, but then my wife would tell me to stop playing even more

Thought about it but from what I heard of people who tried it the TV thing doesn't work that great. They say There is a lag between the TV and ipad from the connection so when you move the ipad around, the motion of your plane isn't displayed instantaneously and this throws you off. The second thing I heard is the resolution isn't there. Monitors, phones and tablets have much higher resolution than TVs but can't say for certain as I haven't tried this out. Not to mention, if it indeed works, one would have to be completely ok feeling like a cheating scumbag. I play on Ipad and it makes it just challenging enough.

Adapting includes being restricted in mobility though doesn't it? How am I supposed to carry my PC and monitor in the John to play? The only refuge I've got left from the wife and even that's on a timer. I think half the fun is being able to take the game anywhere. The joystick will give unprecedented control over motion tilt. Don't know man, but it doesn't sound good for those tablet jockeys

i'm monitoring this. I thought they would have an unfair advantage but it is not the case with at least tablets.
Any tablet today has bigger resolution than almost any computer screen... so no big difference on performance.
The only difference I noticed was on small phone vs computer, but so far there has been only 10 people that installed it on Windows 8 so I don't think it's a big issue at the moment. If the pc userbase grows drastically I'll setup separate servers for them.

Doubt it will be a problem at all. I honestly think with a tablet or any tilt device you have more control over your plane then anyone with a keyboard, mouse, and joystick. Keyboards are only one speed giving you jumpy flight when it comes to trying to aim.

Mouses can just be confusing as hell depending on how the mouse control is. If the mouse control is you point and plane follows you doomed in a turn fight and if it is you move the mouse kinda like a joystick enjoy your head ons because your dead. Joysticks they can be good but I feel there jumpy and give you choppy flight which hurts your aim.

Tablet you have none of these problems because everything is really in the control of how you can move your hands. Its more like the plane is a part of you than an object you struggle to control. I find using a tablet is like using a rifle. The built goes where you point the barrel. The rest of it the spinning rotating maneuvering is just to steady your awful as hell wobble you get when there are 50 mile an hour winds and your trying to sight your scope on that prairie dog 500 yards out.

This.^

Trust me, holding your device offers much more precision than a joystick.
