I've played against you (when I was incognito) and you are definitely getting better. I don't think the upper planes can shoot farther. On Noob Day, a bunch of folks selected the lowest planes, and it was surprising how well those planes did. The speed was slow, but they turn on a dime, much smaller radius than a top plane. I learned that mid and upper planes turn differently when throttled back a little, and I now use that a lot in a chase. As for head-on shooting, those noobie planes are awesome, because, armed with a bomb, they are not flying so fast that they are jittery.
For head-on, it takes concentration to get that teeny little blip (or your assumption of where the blip is, before you can see it) dead in the middle of the aiming circle. Or with a slight lead one way or the other. It is Zen-like concentration. If you've played any golf, it's the same swing thought as "Be The Ball."
And in some games I can't miss. Then there are the rest, when Zen escapes me. But it's all me.
Generally in this game, if I am getting killed, there is something I need to improve. There are a few unfair situations, like tank spawnkilling, multi-plane camping/spawnkilling, and parking in front of spawnpoint. Other than those, we as pilots have tools and skills that we can develop and use.
See you up there.
