Having recently been a Noob myself I remember vividly how discouraging it was to be shot down repeatedly while other pilots swarmed around me like a hungry pack of mosquitos.

I know, everyone went through it. Trouble is that not everyone survives it. Even some with potential skill. I know this personally because I have two sons who have started accounts so they could join dad in the skies. Unfortunately they have decided to spend their game time in other persuits which are more fun while still in the novice stage. :(

(Edit. Both of my boys got back into dogfight a few months after writing this. :-))

Please encourage a struggling by directing them on how to get used to their wings. At least for the first 3 levels. I'm not asking for you to give them a free pass and lose games because of it but please don't just use them for quick points so you can level up more quickly. :pinch:

At 2-3 am here on the east coast many new folks seem to show up. Lots of times there are only 3-4 in a game. This is when the "coaching" is most fun. I don't care about the points so I let them practice and offer help. I find it rewarding to see..."I just bombed my first hanger!" or if I want to tank around our go treasure/train hunting I'll get them up to a safe altitude and let them chase me. If they get their first kill off me, it's okay. They get the excitement and I get my tank.

But sometime's they do deserve free passes..... In certain instances I let them fly by...do what they have to do.... It's better for the game....

I shure need someone to teach me how to avoid enemy fire.
In some games I wonder if the enemy even got a base. :pinch:
If it's a btc I can see the percentage left, that and the fact that the carriers are visual from a great distance lets me know that it exist at all.
I have developed a really bad habit of dying in or over nomansland.
A couple of days ago I was in the same btc game for TWO hours :woohoo:
In those two hours I managed to get close enough to bomb the carrier only twice.
But I still have to thank all of the players who participated in that game for making it a memorable one. :)

Can someone please help me to get out of this nasty habit of dying in nomansland, please, please, please.

If you cant beat them, go around!

Note the max range of your air to air radar abilities. If you stay this distance off the main path and circle alllll the way around, you might find an open target. This is better to do when the enemy is down to their last few or single bomb hits. (Like their ship at 10%)

Ppsshhhh, I like to avoid Bellsaj whenever possible, myself!

Me personally I only shoot noobs, every one else I give a pass. :) First three ranks taste like chicken.

Naw I try and encourage all I can. Teach or give tips from time to time. Even let them fly by every now and again. Other times I blast them to bits and shoot there parashoots to pieces. I always let them off the deck though.

You should tell your kids when they play to let every one know who they are McFate. I tried the same thing with my stepson and brother. It just takes a long time to learn and compete in this game. They aren't in to that. For the first month or so of playing you are just a sitting duck.

The practice feature on the DF app is useful at first to work on ideas and improve more. There are different ways to fly/attack through the rings. There are several levels to unlock with enemy you can chase and bring down. Sorry they struggled to get going. :)

Yea. The practice missions are great!
Especially #5. It has head ons and bombing. I tell em if they can take them out in one pass and take out the tanks and hangars only using 6 bombs they are ready and will not just be cannon folder.

Another good one is the defend the cargo plane level. (Not in multiplayer) very good for combat practice.
Practicing the zep level too. Dropping the throttle an hitting the engines...

The AI enemies leave something to be desired but it's good for starters.
