After the update initializes on your device, you will have to re calibrate. I found that the first calibration was tough, so I got it as close as possible and saved it. Then I re calibrated again and saved it and again until the pitch and roll were perfect, also set sensitivity to half and the plane handles better.

I see many people in game complaining and wonder if they have tried this, it worked for me and I have no issues.

Ok what in the hell am I supposed to do with this:

Tried to recalibrate several times but I don't know what I'm supposed to tilt it to when this is the starting point.

As is the plane pulls and corkscrews to the right, relentlessly.. All attempts at recalibration have failed so far . I'm on iPhone. 4s.

Bopes,

Hold the device in what you want as neutral straight-and-level flying. Mine is around 45 degrees tilted up at me from flat on a table. The calibration screen you posted will likely show the little plane tilted and whatever, depending what the last recording of neutral was. Hit Save. Go back into the Calibration menu. Holding in the same position, the little plane should be level. If not, do it all again. If it looks level, then hit Save and you are done.

It's an addition loop of "saving" than we were used to before, but I seem to have to do this to get it to "take."

Bopes, I had to adjust it in degrees. Took me three times, making minor adjustments each time to get it back to where I could actually fly. I tried to do it all at once at first, but it didn't stick.
Fuck this place. Second rate hack playing in a yard that's too big for him.

Thanks for the feedback, all. I finally just ended up doing pretty much what Manfred said. That is, hold device at playing position (ignoring how cockeyed the plane icons looked) and hit save. Went in game and it flew fine. My mistake was thinking I had to get the plane icons lined up "correctly" relative to the 4 corners of the phone screen. Actually you just have to do just what it says: Tilt to a comfortable position. Hit save. Who knew ? :)

As many have found the position of the plane in settings doesn't matter, just hold it like you would when playing and hit save, problem solved.
