My general rule of thumb, especially after the last few releases, is to always stall the plane into the ground. If I'm still anywhere in the flying range of speeds when I touch down, I'll bounce high enough to flip or hit the carrier basement ceiling.
So whatever the approach, whether it's a long shallow one, a short steep one, or a turning descending bank, I make sure to kill throttle early, and then feather it up only so I can complete the final maneuver. At the runway threshold, my speed is too high if pulling up-elevator results in a gain in altitude; but speed is just right if pulling up elevator results in nose pitch-up with no altitude gain, and slower speed instead. Seen on camera view, I should fall down to the runway with the nose pitched up. In fact, I finish a lot of my landings in camera view, as it is very good for feedback on what went right/wrong.
Nowadays, I've taken to pushing the nose level or down right before I hit the runway. Just a nit, but helps minimize the bounce.
