Perhaps my intentions were misconstrued this evening. I tried to work with a rookie a bit. Advice and such while sidled up to their kite. Things like flying in a straight line isn't a good thing. Urging them to turn. This continued for 5 or so minutes. I would fall back and pull the trigger urging the user to turn a bit. I was not intending to boost scores. A helpful shot across the bow finally made them quit the game.

Brianana sorry if it seemed I was toying. I was, but trying to be helpful. Aside from watching, do members do things to coach and if so what? My company is very hands on and teaches new employees through hands on techniques. Thoughts?

First, I always ask them if they want help. If they do then i continue playing against them as normal, but when the get shot down I tell them what they did wrong and how to improve. Because, if we don't fight against aspirants, how are they going to get better? They won't learn anything and they won't improve. But, that's just what I think.

Smoke, I throw hints too. If I am in a btc or btb game with one or two noobs, I ask them if they wanna practice instead of just pounding them. It's good to do. I'll,let them chase me without shooting at them. I've even let one have a run at my hangars to help teach how to bomb. He went all Crockett and bombed the hell out of one of the buildings. (Sorry davy). But, yeah. Help them out, but tell them what you're doing so thy dont think you're screwing with them.
Fuck this place. Second rate hack playing in a yard that's too big for him.

I tried passing some help on to Brianana as well, I met with the same result. Maybe not an English speaker.

:cheer: what you did(and hopefully continue to do) was awesome. If they don't don't want to listen they will inevitably be taught the hard way. At least there are people out there that will help instruct those that ask.....or just need it.

I remember when I first staretd the game I got shot to hell and back. Remember asking for advice and in return...GOT SHOT! Anyways i ofer help sometimes telling them basicaly not to fly in a straight line and alsothat dropping your bomb allows u to spead up. U can do some mock dogfight battles with them to if they want, but if they arent willing to accept your help there is nothing you can do.

Cheers, skies

Well, maybe they were still unfamiliar with flight. Some of my friends tried other flight simulating games but gave up within five minutes, because they didn't know how to turn. They just rolled and rolled and never understand bank-and-pitch.
Or perhaps they were too nervous. There is tons of information on the screen: the speed, the altitute, the ammo, etc. They didn't know how to read the map: "which point is me?", "where am I heading to?" And they neglected all the conversations at top-left corner.
Maybe we should write a brief manual to help new pilots. Tell them the rules and introduce the interface. Show them at least the most basic operations.
