I'd like to see a debate on team killers. what are the limits? Should there be? There is a automatic ban in place but some seem immune or know how to overcome ban. Most are new players and see it as just being naughty for fun. I know it ruins gameplay for most but where should the line be? There are plenty of innocent friendly fire incidents and I have seen just about everybody do it by accident. Me included. You want to reach out and help a team mate but shoot them down instead. How do we figure out who are doing it for trolling purposes?

If they do it twice and don't say sorry than they deserve a boot. If they apologize on forum that counts for saying sorry.

Just my opinion.

Here comes the rants and raves... I've been banned for 5 several times and some for legitimate accidents. I've killed 2 teams at once dumping a bomb while they're braking. I was chasing a camper. In long very tight games friendly fire happens. With that being said... I like the autoban.

I've also taken a 5 minute break retaliating against a true TKer. I'll do it again at every opportunity. Noobs that don't know the difference and do it once, but catch on quickly and most DF vets are good at explaining. Now the little dirtbag that does it again and again and it's obvious they're doing it intentionally (ie make comments saying they're after blue) should be banned... Forever! Or at least until publicly apologizing with no quarter on repeat offenses. (Abang and Tinger come to mind as reformed players).

My favorite way of dealing with TKers is vigilante justice. I love to follow them from game to game spreading the word. Most of the time they still don't get the picture, but it makes me feel better.

If more people would pay attention to what's going on and agree to a truce to deal with the TKer, I think we'd see less of it. Unfortunately, folks get to caught up in the game or do not have the desire to help. When a truce does work... It's beautiful (thanks jacklpe).

As far as the line goes, if a player is reported in multiple games by multiple creditable players. Permaband until apology is the way to go.
Fuck this place. Second rate hack playing in a yard that's too big for him.

Make Blues immune to blue fire. Make blue hangers immune from blue bombs. The carrier already is. It is immune to friendly tank shells and bombs. Why not the rest? This would all but eliminate the blacklist thread. Then noobs could fly, bomb, and shoot to there hearts content with no effect on game play. Teamkilling would be obsolete in one update.

well here's my take on it..after they shoot a blue or curse the system automatically gives them a warning on the offense..assuming they can read their preferred language ..they know what they are doing..just don't care and thinks they aren't going to be challegened or stopped. Here's an answer, kill the bast###s in every game till they don't wanna even take off..don't warn,as they've already seen that..but shoot them relentlessly and say, still wanna team kill?.. the answer is generally gonna be a yes as they are now mad and embarrassed for getting owned....my opinion only..

I would also like to know if shooting down a person who is on your team and is a team killer is ok. At some point they are ruining the game and must be seen as an enemy, I think, what are your opinions?

One caution with any form of vigilante-ism is that you may be seen (by a moderator or by a player who reports you) out of context of what you are trying to "communicate." The very best thing to do is to forget about killing him back, tell the player to stop, snap some well timed screenshots, and report the details on the blacklist thread. However, if you cannot resist throwing the abuse back at the offender, text your intentions clearly and continuously so that no one will mistake what you are doing.

And if you get banned, take your medicine with pride. Note that a preemptive story/report tends to have more credibility, since some teamkillers whine that, uh yeah, I was retaliating for, yeah, a teamkill, yeah that's it.

Oh please, please, please do this Zup.

Manfriend, is this under consideration? I know its been brought up. I know we're talking about more than a few lines of code here, but for me these changes are more important than even fixing lag or lost conn/crash problems.

As a Libra (the scales of justice,) I find the current situation unfair to both the policing and the policed. There is no reason friendly fire needs to exist in any of its forms. The lost realism would be a welcome trade for the reduction of BS and noob training that has to occur in the game as it exists.
