Well, as I suspected would happen, they're dead or captured in a few days. Amatuers versus the FBI. Although some, possibly many, will wonder how the attackers slipped through, rember that one of the costs living in a free country is that the bad guys usually get to take the first shot. We have to accept this.
It's really important now that there's no martydom or celebrity attributed to these murderers, because they can attract copycats. I have no doubt that these Chechens, although ideologically very different, would have been motivated by the sensational Norwegian Nazi mass killer story.
Here's the next issue. Does anyone, like me, feel at least a bit of sympathy for the 19 year old kid in custody? Was he really in control of his decisions? How will this play out in court?
Boston is safe again, but this story has a long way to go. Terrorism plays as much in our minds as it does on the battlefield. I grew up with the IRA. I can assure you that moral and legal legitimacy is the only way to go. Don't be vengeful, don't be discriminatory. Just be be true and balanced. Use the law, not emotion.
