Have you or do you do interior attack? If so how do you do it?!?? Yesterday my gear failed on me at 900 degrees and my arm was getting a little toasty if you know what I mean! My coat had discoloration in the right arm my reflective started to bubble.(Yes I said bubble) my shield started to bubble where my name is (but not much) luckily I got out of the trailer in time before any serious damage occurred but it was still hot! Now I'm kinda terrified to go back in.

Sounds pretty intense. I've always wanted to try firefighting, just for fun. I've helped put out plenty of wild fires by simply plowing a field via tractor -- but going into a burning home like that appeals to me. Perhaps it's the rush, hahahah! There's a reason why I prefer working in the ER, the units or Critical Care.

How tough is the training? Even for just volunteer firefighting? Physical capability is out of the question, I'm in unbelievable shape. I'm just curious about how training goes. :)

We have department training once a month and is fairly easy but man the burn trailers are intense. There are so many different things you could train for it just all depends on what you like. I thought I wanted to be a nozzlemen but after my gear failing I'm scared to go back in a burning building.

Yeah, I know how that goes. I have several friends who weren't ready for some of the stuff they'd experience doing ER rounds and they usually wont go back for a while.

Don't let the experience define interior attack. As with more exposure, you will harden yourself. :)
