Looking for some good reads. Any recommendations on ww1 flight novels? To Fly and Fight by Ernie Gann was always a favorite. I'm reading Hemmingway's Farewell to Arms right now and am interested by the time period. Now to fold in the aviation aspect. Thoughts?

One of my Hobbies is collecting WW1 aviation book's.... One of my favorite's is from A famous Pilot, James Norman Hall... High Adventure, A narrative of Air Fighting In France. This book has a suprise ending, All these year's later we now know the true ending, It was published in 1918 before War's end.

This Book is a very good read based on his experience's and the other famous pilot's he flew with.

James Norman Hall went on to write A few classic's.... He was also a very good WW1 pilot.

If you can find it, It's an excellent read for anyone here on the Forum.

Based on your signature line I'm guessing you've read "Goshawk Squadron" by Derek Robinson?

Thanks for the leads. I found Goshhawk squadron used on Amazon. I've also found a free kindle copy of high Adventure. Should keep me busy for a couple of weeks. What other favorites are there for others in a similar situation?

Just finished Goshawk Squadron on vacation. It was an enjoyable read I'd recommend it. My kindle copy of High Adventure was somehow lost. I did find that it stuck to the fighter pilot memoir a bit too much, but then again it went unfinished.

Who has more suggestions?

Was just going to recommend, hornets flight, but he wasn't a spy, just a teen boy needing to warn allies of first radar in Denmark. I also LOVE Follets books, has a gread one about French resistance in ww2 jackdaws also coldwar-space race code to zero, also a book about days leading into Russian involvement in ww1 man from st Petersburg , in addition some of my faves, on wings of eagles, not war book but great true story of hostage rescue in Iran by Ross Perot (a great Texan), and he wrote another about the first trans Atlantic passenger flight, but the name has just escaped me, his subject matter is all over the place, I also highly recommend anything Grisham, but that's just me, we have a small up and comming library in our house and I have also been reading lots of presidential bios, GB 41 has one about his time shot down and as POW THAT'S GREAT, McCain book is good too, Stewart woods books are also decent, along with Jeffery archer, also I don't know if your familiar with Larry McMurtry, another great Texan , (lonesome dove) his books ate great too

Just finished the good German by Joseph kanon it was pretty good

Its been a while since I've read Ken Follett. I was hooked on him for a while. I don't know why, but I never got into Clancy. I think Red October was as far as I endeavored.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep looking.
