If u want to catch a huge wave, go in the water during a hurricane or a storm. Its sick but scary and fun at the same time. And go in the morning, early.

Aren't red tides toxic?

I've never seen a red tide for myself, but I have been in a rip tide (rip current). Scariest experience in the ocean right there.

If ur caught in a rip current, swim side ways, not towards land.

Yep, I'm glad I knew that. Most people try to swim against it and exhaust themselves. I was worried how far out it would go.

Swimming sideways doesn't always work, some research now says just float and it will bring you back in www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/3470178.htm

life here is hard. some people have to have 2 jobs, also they work so much they dont get to see the sea in months even though beaches are 10 min away.

Red tide is toxic but you can touch it. my brother has been there, he says it is awesome.

when i feel i can swim back to the beach i swim under water and float. but yeah. it is really scary.

Bomber are you from around here? lets make a Dog fight party!!

Nachoo, i live on the east coast, in Delaware at the beach, not cali. But i have visited cali and plan to go there as soon as i graduate high school to surf and skim. i am still learning how to surf.

And ur brother might have been in one of the non toxic ones?

hammer i wouldn't trust that, i would stick to what works and whatever has worked in the past. The ocean is a extremely dangerous place, if floating doesn't work then ur dead. I had a close call when i was 6 or 7, i got in a rip tide and didn't know what to do, so i just tried to float, it didn't work and a life guard had to come and rescue me.
