There's been a competition to make a design for the flag of Worcestershire, as there has been no official flag for the county since the start. The designs are now on the final 4. follow the link on the picture to vote. There have been very few voters, so I have been asked to spread the word. The voting closes on the 31st March.

Thanks for this Daredevil, I've been in Yorkshire for 38 years now, but I was born in Worcestershire and spent my first 6 years there. Great county, great people. I miss the orchards.

It's been a while since I've been back, whereabouts are you, I'm from Evesham.

I'm right in the centre of Worcester, two blocks away from the cathedral. I used to take the train to Evesham. Really nice place

The voting ends on the 31st March. The results will be announced by the Worcestershire Council on the 8th April. I will post back on this thread on that day. In the meantime, happy voting!

My prediction: the 3rd one will win..The first one is too representative of the rare black pear--dead spank in the middle. The second one is cool except the pears have a creepy face factor. The fourth one could be mistaken for anything--perhaps a pear pirate So from the process of elimination, I'm shooting for the 3rd one.

Pears? I thought they were grenades... Boo. Guess I shoulda booked a trip with Paul and I would have know better. Oh well, I wanted the one with the biggest grenade, but now I know what they are, I like #3 best.

The city's coat of arms had 3 black pears added to it by Charles I. So the pears are quite a big sign for us. Not grenades I'm afraid, Parrot! The wavy lines are meant to represent the River Severn, which runs through Worcester. It's the biggest river in the UK.

I live down in Gloucester, Daredevil. I don't think we have a flag, either. Just a coat of arms. I must talk to BBC Gloucestershire about that. This is a great idea by the way!

Yeah you should talk to the council or BBC. I think that there are only about 4 counties in the UK which don't have an official flag. Worcestershire and Gloucestershire included. They should all have flags.

We have no official flag for Newport, RI either.
