I was out to dinner last night with my family. After ordering drinks I excused myself to the little boys room. On the way, I observed a man and woman, assuming married couple, sitting together and both in uniform (Army). I stopped at the waitress stationed, found their waiter and explained I wanted to pay for their dinner. I went on to the restroom and stopped back by the wait station to sign my slip. I stopped at the table and thanked them for their service and told em dinner was taken care of, shook hands with both and exchanged pleasantries.

As they were leaving they stopped by our table and gave my youngest boy this patch

What in the hell does it mean/signify/represent?

Got a search going on. I'll let you know if any thing shows up.
Did a package show or should I begin another search?

Looks like a medical brigade variation, see 18th med brigade on this site.

But I could be way off.

Ding ding ding... Hotdog we have a wiener!

Thanks Hans, I couldn't find it anywhere, but that definitely makes since. This all happened in central NC, just outside Raleigh.

They were nice folks. I was shocked when she "ripped" it off her shoulder... At least til I saw the Velcro.
