I've been playing this for a couple weeks and I was wondering if there was anybody playing that was an actual pilot besides me
So I asked around and everywhere I went the answer was negative
So I decided to ask here
Any real pilots on dogfight?

I was a looooong time ago. Trained to be a pilot in college but landing 50 feet above the runway and decided computer science was the way to go.

So..."real pilot"...maybe not. "Bad pilot"...oh yeah.

Got to fly tons when I worked at the airport. Now I'm lucky to afford fuel to go play around in my brothers Cessna 150.

Mondo,
I had to look at your avatar closely. Those are legs.
At first I thought that it was a "blessed" bird.

I started and it got too expensive too,but have found a cheaper way to experience the beauty of flight lately and you don't have to pay for fuel or worry about airports, all you need is an ocean cliff or a large hill, you have to pass a civil aviation exam but two weeks training will do it and then you put your harness on, clip yourself in and away you go,its as close as you can get to the man upstairs without a motor on your back,Hangliding is the sport and I have flown with eagles beside me almost touching each wing tip, you never forget your flights, it is an extremely satisfying sport,

That sounds amazing and I'm going to look into that
Thank you sir!

How about Aircraft Technician's....? I hate that word....
Aircraft Mechanic is more fitting... What do you think Jacob... We are basically the NASCAR pit crew..... ;)

I'd like to fly when I'm older, had a look at EGTE airport today, they had a hut called aileron house and all the radio frequencies on a board. I fly with x plane and probable going to do a very long flight in 747-400 (I was thinking about the 787 but I'm more experienced with the 747-400) my route at the moment is

Somewhere to Tango, November, Charlie, Mike (TNCM) this airport offers me a very good chalange to land as you don't have auto land capabilities and the runway can only just manage the 747's. Also there is a beach of tourists and I have to fly over them at about 30 foot which in turn means that I nearly clip the fence with my landing gear. Check out on YouTube princess Juliana International Airport

And here's a clip of what happens here every day

Well, I started flight lessons for a private pilot certificate and I was really enjoying it but unfortunately I had to stop because I found out that I wouldn't be able to get the medical certificate due to medical conditions that I would rather not talk about. I was so sad when I found that out... but, I'm hoping to get a sports pilot license some time in the future. No medical for that one. too bad though, no cross country or night flying.

Interesting, a minimax project. Something about wooden airplanes scares me. Rotax engine, right?

I am an instrument rated private pilot, single engine, land. I did get about 30 hrs of float time while i worked maint at Kenmore Air Harbor in Seattle.

I spent five years there, overhauling Pratt and Whitney R-985 radial engines. When I quit I was responsible for all the teardown and cleaning, cylinder overhaul, and dyno operation.

Most of my wrenching was in the engine overhaul shop, but I did enjoy my time in the float shop hitting rivets and riding the bucking bar. Why me? I was the only guy who could fit inside all the float compartments :)

Heaven for me is taking off in an airplane whose engine I just returned to service. Especially in a 450 hp DHC-2 Beaver on floats.

My dream job is overhauling bigger radials and hopefully flying some of the Warbirds that use them. How would you like to gap the spark plugs on an R-4360? There are 56 per engine!

Air-cooled heads prevail!!

Happy airplane daydreaming, dogfighters!

Wooden airplanes are great. Until composites got popular most aerobatic planes had wood spars if not wooden wings. Wood unlike metal doesn't fatigue, as long as you don't overstress it it can flex back and forth as much as you want. Metal on the other hand work hardens and begins to crack at some point.

Lucky that you didnt, management is AWFUL. Thats why Kenmore is like a bush industry school: everyone does their time and moves on to companies who value their personell. Its a bummer. Still at horizon? I always like to see the -8's (as i refuse to call it a Q whatever, lol) flying around Seattle, so gracefull they are !

I'm no longer with Horizon Air. I worked there in Portland Oregon for almost 11 year's. I now work on corporate jet's..... I worked on the Dash 8 100's, 200's and the Q400's. I miss the Dash 8's alot...

I still have many friend's at Horizon.... They give me a hard time because one of the plane's I work on now is the Dornier 328. I hated those thing's when Horizon had them.... I still hate em.. :)
