I don't think there is a detailed explanation/calculation. I guess it's just a rough estimate.

I posted this a couple of months back:

www.dogfightplay.com/index.php/forum/2-g...ing-points-explained

It attempts to explain how points are won/loss in game.

The ranks are listed here:

www.dogfightplay.com/index.php/forum/4-a...ments/1158-new-ranks

BUT, I've never seen a post on how many points you need for each rank. I would be happy to update my post with this info but I think it would need pilots from each rank to chime in with what their screen says in the upper left (where the calculation is reported).

It's a little confusing because if you look at the stats you will see folks with better or worse stats where you would not expect to see them.

From what a read in older posts, my understanding is that it is only based on your points and the stats actually have nothing to do with your ranking.

In other words, as you rank up (personal rank I.e. Air Marshal) you also move up in the over all rankings. With all of that said, your ranking doesn't necessarily mean you are a better or worse pilot, just that you've played more or less. Before anyone jumps on that one, its not an insult. The more you play the more points you accumulate. And of course the more you play, the better you get. So, higher ranking players have more experience and probably better pilots, but not necessarily.

Help or confuse?
Fuck this place. Second rate hack playing in a yard that's too big for him.

100% correct

If you could manage to get into only shoot down the Zep games by yourself you would become a MORF very quickly with no kills being registered. (Side note to 'Z'...if you want to test this theory, please contact me and I'll be glad to help!)

It's how you save your point's...... A person with 50 kill's can have more point's than some one with 100 kill's..... and I mean way more point's...There are way's to save point's....keep hitting retry and you won't save any point's.....you will lose them in certain instances....Don't even bring, bring down the zep into my scenerio....

Where is RADAR "CALVIN" when you need him? Somewhere, I believe, he posted the answer to how many points are needed for each rank.

If you do a search on rankings it's all there. Three times over.
