I am split on the subject on bailing out. Is it worth using the chute and hope to get someone with your sidearm, or is it better just to respawn with a new plane?? When should you bailout vs respawn? I would like hear your thoughts.

I bail out on 0 so that you are closer to the ground and they have less chance to shoot you

I bail fast if I list a head to head, as you are a good chance of a kill. I also bail out if attacking a zeppelin and imclose, to it at the start, near the end of a zep game best to get back into a plane.

If you are concerned about points, chute. When you touch down you regain and lock the points you earned on the most recent run. Otherwise, you loose them when you respawn. If shot down low and close to your base after take off, spawn... Chances are you won't have points to save.

Personally, I only chute if I'm in No-man's land or close to the objective. I know this is a flying game, but I do enjoy the tanks.

If shot down close to my own base or carrier, I will not chute, but respawn for vengeance. The exceptions are 1) spawnkiller on the loose, I'll try to snipe him from the chute or 2) tanks close to the base, then it's tank on tank. They don't always expect that.

Attacking the zep? It's pretty easy to snipe engines from the chute and usually defenders are distracted by other attackers.

MAN! Have I really thought about this that much? Is there a Dog Fighters Anonymous?

I chute most of the time, especially when:

-There is a good chance of getting a shot at the zeppelin or enemy fighters.

-When I'm fairly close to the enemy base so I can hop in a tank and take a shot at the hangars.

-To be honest, I sometimes jump right away when I'm certain that the enemy is directly behind me.

I don't jump when I need to get back in a plane right away, ie: enemy fighters dangerously close to our airbase. I also don't jump to do the "invisible soldier" glitch. That's just unfair.

One thing I find annoying is that while in the chute, the bullets from your rifle are as powerful as the ones on your plane (2 shot kills). But right when you hit the ground, they get downgraded (5 shot kills -- I think). :S

I always chute too.. Then I fire one or two shots at the nearest plane to sucker them into trying to kill me. Planes coming right at you make the easiest targets ;) unless of course it's one of the super aces that can hit things from 100mi away

Thanks everyone, these are awesome points of view. I never knew about loosing points earned if you respawn. You all give lots to consider when playing.

this is good to know. i was reluctant to bail out. in some of the games i have played bailing out denied your killer the points. it was considered a cheese tactic to do that. if someone takes me out i want to make sure they get the credit. glad to know how it works here.....but how do you shoot the rifle?. i see no "fire" button when in the chute or on the ground.

Once in the chute, tap the camera button and you are the soldier. The fire button is on the bottom right of the screen. You use a joystick to move, which is on the bottom left of the screen. Good luck!

Ok... Should you chute? If you do chute you should shoot the the one that made you chute and if you shoot someone and and they chute you you should shoot them in their chute and should they shoot you from their chute you should chute and shoot them in their chute from your chute. Shoot! Am I getting this right?

Kinda reminds me of:
How many pounds in a groundhog's mound when a groundhog pounds hog mounds? Or was that something about woodchucks? Any the answer to both is 42.
