Tell the good doctor about your favorite pet. When I was a boy Of 6 or 7 years of age. We had a bird
that could talk. It would say stuff like I can talk can you fly, or Here kitty kitty kitty, and other stuff or phrases
not fit for forum. We got the bird from my cousin who was a Navy man. This bird had a very file mouth .
When company came over it would fit in the cage and scream Pet me I'm lonely. Any poor unfortunate soul
Stupid enough to put their hand inside of the cage would get bit. And this bird was rather large so was the bit.
Even the cat gave this bird a wide berth when it escaped its cage. Our Doberman Pinscher would not even come in the house wow we had the bird . What made it worse was when the preacher came over the first Sunday we had the bird.
He believed im turn the other cheek but he should not have believed try the other hand.
By the way that's what the bird told him to do. 1 nasty bite on each hand the preacher nicknamed
The bird Satan.... it stuck. There's 1 of my stories . Let's hear 1 of yours.

I had a pet opossum for a while, he was awesome he'd just ride around on your shoulder and hiss at the dogs. Lol fyi opossums are very messy eaters(we fed ours fruit and canned cat food) they also enjoy rubbing dog crap on themselves. B t when they are clean they're great.

We also had 3 skunks for a while the mother was killed stealing eggs from the coop we found the kittens or pups .
When we found her den, they still had their eyes close and needed to nurse, so we put the old mama cat to work.
she nursed the 3 skunk babies for almost 2 weeks, Till1 of them sprayed her,
that was the end of the free milk... we tried to keep them alive but it was difficult at best.
What do i mean by difficult? Have you ever milked a wild cat??? It gave new meaning to the phrase Freddy Krueger .
But the skunks survived another 3 weeks, then they took sick we think it was the sudden cold weather
We ended up losing all 3, but it was a interesting ride. When I figure out how to post pictures on here
If you would like me to I'll post some pictures of the old mama cat Nursing those 3 skunks.
And be 4 you ask surprisingly no they did not stink like you would have thought, I guess they were too young .
But very interesting pets .

We've had more pets than most people ever dream of, everything from skunks to rattlesnakes from cats to birds that would attack the cats....and win!... :woohoo:

What kind of interesting pets have you've had??? And Jacob yes possums are great fun but like you said if you have dogs or cats they can be some seriously nasty buggers. We had ONE! For about 2 days till it found the dog droppings.

We used to get the "reject/snake food" rodents from the local pet shop. There was an eyeless albino hamster, one armed gerbil, and a Guinea pig with on really messed up eye. They were cool but all were kinda mean, although the blind hamster would "hide" in plain sight so he was easy to keep up with.

You aren't supposed to boil cat. Grilled or fried is best.

Meet Satan, He's the Doc family's little piece of hell on 4 legs, this little feller can make Freddy take a side road rather than cross paths. Just the other day we could hear him making friends with the Great Dane next door  did you know they sound just like a little girl when they scream

There's already 2 German Shepards and a Poodle that won't come with in 100 ft of my house. B)
No doggy surprise's in the yard.

I use to capture praying mantis and keeping them on a terrarium. They are the most ferocious and tenacious predators I know.
Lions? Sharks? Giant Spiders? Nah! Mantis yeah!

I begun creating some tarantulas. They are nice, beautiful, but once they catch their prey, they hide and get quiet for weeks!
But a praying mantis, hey, they are amazing - you throw a living prey inside the terrarium, sit and watch. 30 seconds after, they catch and imediately begin to eat! And if you throw another pray while the little guy is still eating, they can even keep the first prey in one hand and catch the other with the free hand!
And they don't rest like spiders do!
I tried to buy exotic praying mantis from this site , but the vendor said that the mantis can't stand such a long distance shiping - so, I stick with brazilian specimens.
Mantis can eat any living prey they can squeeze - and depending on the size of the mantis, he can even capture flying hummingbirds, little fishes and even snakes!

Edit: google it for "mantis vs snake youtube", or "mantis vs hummingbird", or "mantis eating goldfish". There is one youtube movie showing a mantis eating the tip of a human's finger (actually, the finger of the guy that was recording the movie). Sick, but cool...

It's like 1 upmanship. I think they call it "playing the numbers". The kid's can explain it better.

Its when kids start talking and have a competition to see who can come up with the best lie to tell there friend to make them think they are awesome or better. For instance kids will get into arguments on who's dad has the biggest tractor or owns the most land. Usually it sounds like this my dad just bought this huge tractor. Well my dad just bought a tractor that is part tank. Then it takes off from there.

Thanks Mantz and Skydavis!

My English is 2 cents better now! :P

About the "upmanship" joke sequences: as an amateur standup-comediant, I hate needing to explain jokes - actually, I don't do it at all. But here, looks like something needs to be fixed: when I "started" this childish play ("mine is bigger than yours"), I was refering to this - what hopefuly make our focus return to the main subject of this thread (after all, mine is not that big...)

By the way, did anyone watch mantis capturing/eating a gold fish on youtube? And what about eating from a human's fingertip? Yeeeeek!

Sorryy Ped, I have not watched them, AI still have nightmares from playing dogfight, so once those end I will be sure to take a quick peek.

Thought you might want to add this pet to your collection. It was found in Russia near the meteor crash-site.
