Hey fellow flyers!
If any of you guys and gals are in USA and old enough to vote, please consider voting for Romney. After the last 4 years, I pay twice as much for fuel, more for groceries, had my hours and pay cut. Our country is deeper in debt than ever before and we continue to borrow more $ from China that my children will have to pay back. Obama also wants to cut our military's funding and slash the benefits of our service members. He also wants to raise taxes on the people that I work for and my friends work for. Or company will cut back and i will get laid off.We need a new leader with experience in how to right a flailing business/economy. I don't believe Romney is the savior, but I do believe he deserves a shot. I am confident he can do less harm than Obama has. I dont like where we are headed. Socialism is not the answer. For God and country please go vote tomorrow and I hope you will vote for Romney. He deserves a shot.
Today, I am worse off after the last 4 years and so are a lot of people I know. Are you better or worse off? Have you had to seek government assistance in some form? It shouldnt be this way and doesnt have to. We need to get back to work, higher taxes will only hurt us all more.
I Also want to extend my deepest sympathies to the good people suffering the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. Guess where our president Obama has been while they are suffering? Playing golf in Las Vegas! Are u kidding me? W need to restore dignity and honor to the office of our president. And by the way, I voted for Obama the first time, but will I will not this time.
Thanks for reading this. I know it's your choice and my opinion who can do a better job, but is fact that things have gotten worse not better in the last 4 years for my family and a lot of people I know. Actually, I don't know anyone who is doing a lot better financially. Please consider voting for Romney. I truly do believe he has better experience in business and management. Actually he is the only one that has experience in the real world.

Sorry Hamers I won't say anything else. I didn't know it was against the rules. It is really important to me and my family and could mean the difference in me keeping my job and many of my friends. I didn't mean to bother you or anyone else. I am sorry. I was only asking for help from friends. Sorry again. That's the last of it. I won't post anything more.

Don't worry just please change them. I don't care who you or anyone votes for and nither should you. Who ever gets elected will do a good job and bring jobs back and all that stuff. But a public fourm shouldn't be a place to advertise for a person.

Dude, keep dreamin. It definitely matters who gets elected. I live in the USA, I'm guessing you don't?. It matters big time. They are totally different people in their beliefs and visions for this country. This is a big deal. We are already in big trouble. We are at the edge of the debt cliff.
Honestly, sorry,I thought this public forum was a great place to reach out to my fellow friends. Sorry I offended you Hamers. I really didnt mean to.

Quick question? How'd your wallet change from when Clinton was in office to Bush?

Calvin that is a good insight. Clinton was a good president. My wallet today is nothing like it was with Clinton, or Bush. For every one job created in the last 4 years, 7 families have gone on food stamps. Ill try to find the source of that figure.
I voted for Obama the first time because I believed in hope and change. I'm worse off now than 4 years ago and so are many of my friends. A lot of us have really been suffering. I think we need to give Romney a shot. I can't survive another 4 years of this.
But yes my wallet is much lighter than with Clinton or Bush. Lets give Romney a shot. He's a successful business guy and has different ideas to grow the economy. What we need is full time work and a thriving hiring economy to get out of this mess. We are spending more than we are taking in. I don't think the answer is to make our employers pay for it all in higher taxes. Actually even if you took all of their money, it till wouldn't touch what they are spending in DC. I' just want some change from the current situation we are in. It aint getting better after 4 years and give me another 4 to wait and see aint the right answer either. I've just lost my faith on the guy I voted for in 2008. He seems like a nice well intentioned guy but he's turning the wrong knobs. It aint any better after 4 years. I just had a child. When he was born, his share of the new national debt is $48,000. and growing every day. That scares me. Lets give the other a guy a shot at it. He is a business guy after all. This is only my humble opinion. I respect that you have yours. I like to stay open minded to every situation and person. I really do not mean for you to think I am arguing with you. I am not. I love our country and our legacy. I am a proud American. I respect all Americans. I just think we need to try something new. The current president isnt working out like I had hoped. I'm not going to be stubborn about it. I gave him a chance, it hasn't worked out. That's it. Take care Calvin, thanks for your thoughts and I think your a great pilot. I've enjoyed flying with you man. All the best,
Aces

Hamers, I respect your feelings there. I've heard that before too that we are still feeling the effects of the previous administration. In this case though, things are a little different this time around. Yes you are right things did get bad with bush and it has spilled into obamas presidency, but you can't blame all this on Bush either. That's a load of you know what. This president, who I voted for in 2008, has made changes we are facing now though. For example the government expansion and spending of obamacare and the stimulus. The foreign policy is a absolute nightmare. We are not stronger, but weaker. What happened with Benghazi? What happened to transparency? Why do we have an all inclusive foreign aid bill? We even give foreign aid to china and Venezuela! Seriously. Go look up " foreign aid a time to reconsider" on you tube. It's a good one of Ted Poe from Texas.
I'm just saying Hamers, that you have a long future ahead of you and so do my kids. I want it to be a bright one for yall. This aint it. I'm glad yall are still young enough to not have to know what it's like to have to make your own way in this kind of an economy. We can do better. I feel a responsibility as an American to vote in a way that I believe will bring economic independence and preserve our countries heritage as a light to the world. We are not socialists yet! All the best Hamers.

Wow. I'm not sure what to say. That's pretty weak man. Be proud of your country little man. There's been a lot of heros who have gone before you. They died to build this country. This is still the best country in the world Hamers. You need to spend some time watching the movie john Adams and maybe a few good war movies like band of brothers. This country is worth fighting for. You are worth fighting for. Every American is worth it. Preserving our freedoms is worth it. Live free or die. Better count your blessings. Traveling s nice, but living in America with the freedoms we have is unique. There is not another like her. Vote wisely friend.

Political threads or any topic that doesn't belittle others is fine in the gossip section. But posting two threads on the same topic is spamming, so don't do that. And when you start a thread that not all people may be interested in, use a topic name that spells out your intention, so you don't waste people's time.

For those of you who disagree with the o.p., post your counterpoints! It usually is more educational and interesting that way.

I am traveling today, so I voted yesterday, dropped my ballot off at the registrar of voters. What a zoo! Good to see people voting.

Guys it doesn't really matter a jot who wins if your thinking about your wallet and the economy of your country, the entire world is teetering along the edge of economic meltdown , sorry but what happens in Europe and the Arab world affects the states, what happens in the states doesn't really impinge on Europe or the Arab world as much, so whoever gets in can't do much more to turn things around as has already been done.

I have an American girlfriend and a lot of American friends and it always amazes me how isolated the average American is from events in the rest of the world and when you are looking for a leader for a country you have to look at the rest of the world. This is a small rapidly overpopulating planet each country each nation dependent on others and depended on by others, this cog turns that cog ect ect. I saw a mention about the cost of fuel a while back, oil, that is what governs a country, any country and who holds the oil is in charge, by the way, the states has just about the cheapest at pump prices in the world, $3.50 a gallon, how about $11.94 a gallon, renting a house in the states is what about $500 a month how about $1200 a month average wage in states $27000 a year how about $27000 yep average wage is about the same but you pay a hell of a lot less for gas housing and basic food stuff, that's why most of the world see you as rich Americans. So stop moaning.

I don't know about "best" country in the world Aces. I mean, there are plenty of great countries and we all have our ups and downs. I can settle for "one of the best" but we do have our downfalls. I live in the USA and sadly I've never even seen a Cadbury Flake bar until muck enlightened me. :silly: Maybe one day....

Thanks Manfred. I'll do it that way next time. I only posted to get visible.
I'm glad to see people engaged and voting as well. We need to be heard whichever your candidate is.

Muck, you are half right there. I agree. The whole world is on the cliff. In the USA it will make a difference as to how move forward from here. The Two candidates have polar opposite agendas and solutions. Obama wants to take care of us all with bigger socialized government and raising the taxes. Romney believes smaller government, lower taxes, less government interference will grow our jobs and economy.
Taxing our employers will ultimately be a tax on us. People don't want to work hard and bust thier butts and risk and sacrifice by starting and growing businesses when the government is taking half of what you make and giving it to people that refuse to work or even try to seek work. Our system is broken and I believe Romney sees the problems with it and atleast try to fix them instead of grow more socialized big government assistance programs. We don't need handouts from our government to healthy able bodied Americans. We need jobs to earn our money and buy what we need. Those are my thoughts on the last 4 years. The course we are on has hurt us and will for another 4 if we don't vote for change. I'm voting to give somebody else with smart business sense a shot at it. Romney has saved flailing businesses all his life and transformed them in to profitable businesses. I think we owe it to ourselves and our children to see if he can do better than Obama has.
So the point is instead of throwing your hands in the air and saying we are all screwed it doesn't matter who wins, choose the smartest guy with a plan to try to fix it. Vote Obama and you know to expect more of the same. I'm tired of the same! We deserve someone we can trust. For example, what is the truth about the cover up in Benghazi? I don't trust or respect many people in our government. I respect the office they hold though. Let's shake things up. I believe Romney is motivated and sharp.
These only my opinions and I respect each Americans as equally valuable. So please if you want to share your thoughts go for it. I will not get upset if I disagree with you and I am glad y'all have been equally respectful to me and my thoughts on our past and future.
God Bless America!

Jacob thats a good point. We definately have problems but I'm biased. I still think we are:) but we are losing our identity. That's why today it's important everyone screw their heads on straight and go vote, whichever candidate they want.
As far as the Cadbury flake bar. That is genius! Is that England? Good greif, what have we been missing:)
Thanks for your thoughts muck and Jacob! Y'all are good men. Like flying with y'all. :)

Your Right Muck. I remember gas price's being way higher when I was over there. I also remember Medical Being way cheaper as far as going to the hospital....you could get in and get taken care of....I don't know what it's like now. I think the thing is, everything is different from people to way's of living, thoughts, day to day living...Do you still have a TV tax over there...We don't have that..... What I'm getting at is You have that we have this....we have that you have this...lol like the Flake candy bar....It's easy to focus on one thing like gas. Anyone in the states ever heard of a Ford Cortina, was the other princess(car)?. I enjoyed my time over there. It really opened my eye's to how different people are and different culture's....I've found I've enjoyed life alittle more now that I can except things that I once thought differently of. I'm haveing a hard time typing this because I want to say thing's (bring up thing's) that would fan the fire's again. If I brought them up this would all be easier ;)

I guess I'm just wondering if you tallied everything if cost would even out...Doesn't reallymatter to me.....To all my european friends. Thanks for letting me visit for 3 and a half year's. For an 18 year old It was a real eye opener. It helped shape who I am today...

My dad is voting for romney too, he watch each debate carefully, did his reasearch and all that stuff. And i saw a part of the debate and noticed that whenever obama is asked a question, he never answeers it unlike romney. He stutters. I would never vote for him. My dad voted for him last time and he said thats one of the biggest mistakes he ever made.

Jacob, i like to consider we are the best, even if we arent according to stats. Only thing mattera is if ur happy where u live.
