1/4 is not bad though,my android device leaves morecthan half of the screen to keypad..
Dont know about ipad but i believe it should be same that,as you target the plane in the middle of the screen,typings wouldnt be a problem,at least for my android device..

If its on ur screen then its on ur enemys screen. And mine takes upto 7. Doesnt bother me.
