Thanks for posting that dire. I almost feel like the pure traditionalist vehemently arguing a mute point when it comes to tha kind of Bs. The pilots like me, you, the rest of our squad play for the love of the planes, community, the game itself through thick and thin it’s just fun. Then you have the people that answer to no one, have their own code and play their own game which I’ve expounded on in great detail lol. Even though I find that obnoxious and distasteful...trashy in other words, I know that those people love the game, but are not beholden to any kind of shared code or unwritten law that this game has materialized on its own through the years. The two lines of thought more or less is how I see the game. I was gonna add, “the people that just wanna win or the weekend warriors who play every now and then, but more or less iits the aforementioned 2 diff ways to play that I think is the game rite now. The key difference being: it’s not just the random 1-2 people that play by their own code, it’s 35-40% of the players now. I believe this is because of what I’ve stated before: you start new, you want to find a niche so you don’t suck. So you sneak, you drop, you do shady crap in order to gain some form of advantage cause you like the game..but going 2-33 against the same A-hole nite after nite gets old. Then next thing you know your either good enough to fire and play with the adults or you buy a WW2 and take your, “niche” to the next level. I’ve played in games with 6 people in em and been the only one to even attempt to kill anyone or be in WW1. They just tried to loop bomb each other the whole game. I mean if the game trend that way completely, then you’ll see more and more people stop playing..especially if conn problems persist. But I guess camping is the other favorite past time of today’s more prominent WW2 players. And that’s why I believe it’s more of a code vs non code type deal. You got people that would prefer to play 1 one hour match with lots of action. Or you’d have people that prefer to just win at all cost to get on to the next match, but those same ppl generally fall into the side of things not beholden to any form of chivalry, class, or sportsmanship. The more those type of players are the best and most popular in the skies..the more noobs will think that’s acceptable and the chivalric code as we know it will come to an end. But honestly when was the last time you played in a game vs the Fokker mono plane with a green as it gets noob? I honestly couldn’t tell you...the ones I do see are trying to loop around me in a jet...
I’m just gonna keep playing, and pray the game grows or at least finds a more consistent base of people playing. Even though chivalry and class is waning from our virtual skies...I reckon I still prefer shooting down reds to much else.. aaaaaawwwwoooooo
