I checked the total wine website and all the reviews are great. I am going to have to invest in a bottle.... Thanks again Tx. :)

Viper, you won't regret it. I like it served neat, but at 93 proof, an ice cube would probably open it up nicely.

Jacob, if you find Envy in a bar, order up a shot. It is damn good!

That's what the reviews said as well. I have to wait until tomorrow due to my work schedule, but rest assured ill find a bottle. The Angels Envy was a good recommendation, I have a feeling this will be a new must have in my home also. :)

Next month I'm going "camping" with my fraternity brothers. I'll bring a bottle of each to enjoy with a cigar by the camp fire!

Simplistic, realistic, and in my opinion the best way to enjoy both life and reward. Something about sitting next to a fire, boots propped up, your new favorite fire poking stick and sipping your favorite drink. letting your thoughts wonder as you stare into the coals. I love that stuff

They are fine, but the 1835 is so much smoother it actually scared me.

Thanks for the tip Skeeter! Haven't had 1835. There are a couple of problems with Texas whiskies. First, it's not bourbon unless it is distilled in Kentucky. That actually is by act of Congress. Second, most Texas whiskies are blends. Bourbon has to age 7 years and the Texas whisky distilleries haven't been around long enough to finish their own whisky. TX just released its first single barrel. In a 2 or 3 more years we will have a much better sense of the Texas whiskies. Merry Christmas from your friendly bourbon snob!

I am soooooo jealous right now. I have been unable to score me a bottle of the Blanton's yet... that stuff is very hard to come by.

Based on the reports from Skeeter I may just have to score a bottle of the 1835 as well.

Tx the way I see it the biggest problem I see is that I have neither in my inventory. Angels Envy or Tullamore Dew are both suitable substitutes however.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I ordered a few slugs of Tullamore Dews at The Field Irish Pub in San Diego. I was very pleased with it. Red Breast single pot is also an outstanding Irish whiskey.

Never fear Viper! Makers 46 is readily available, prices to win, and pure deliciousness!

As much as I love Texas, when it comes to whiskey, buyer beware.

Incidently, I live within 15 miles of Lewisville. A good Lewisville distilled whiskey is Wotherspoons.

I managed to score a bottle of Blantons and a bottle of 1835. Tonight I decided to try the 1835, since it is by far the less expensive of the two. Scary smooth is very accurate. Tex, if you haven't found a bottle of this yet I highly recommend you do. Smooth and delicious... time for shot #3...

Heck I like it so well let me buy the patrons here a shot each.

oooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooowwwwwww
