I'm weird. We've established that. But I've resolved never to but a single coin until I reach MORAF. I want every plane I ever fly to be bought and upgraded with coins I earned.
Am I the only one? Has anyone else never bought coins before? This is more of a matter of curiosity than anything.

As soon as I reached level 11, almost two years ago, I bought credits. Not only to make it easier, but mostly because I wanted to pay the developers for their priceless work.
Making money on gaming industry is hard, when you are not Gameloft or Square Enix.

By the way, I am just waiting some weeks until I can use again my old credit card (after being almost bankrupt this year, because of some health issues on my family, when I had to stop paying Visa bills and, now, I had to negotiate my debts). If not for my debts, I would have already spent all necessary money to have all planes and upgrades.

And come on, guys: you certainly spend more money eating hamburgers on a single weekend than you will spend to buy ALL planes and upgrades at once!!!!!

(And NO, Joaquin is not paying me any fees, nor he asked me to do so).

i've earned all my coins one parachute drop at a time! i was thinking someday to splurge and actually "buy" a plane, but for now, i am happy with what i have been able to afford for free.

I would buy points if it would benefit me in any way other than basically, cheating. If I buy points instead of earning them, that's just skill I don't have and wont gain, so I earn my points for the skills they give me....I wont take the easy way out.

I could keep playing this game for the end of times using only the first tier planes, specially the german monoplane. Actualy, I AM DOING IT on my second account. It is quite challenging and hell of a fun killing aces and their powerfull machines using only my basic sluggish plane. And even after geting enough credit to buy a better plane, I keep using the tier 1.

So, the point is NOT about "cheating". The point is about paying Joaquin what he DESERVES by giving us the most amazing, fun and addictive piece of mobile game ever made.

Look from this perspective, please.

Edit: For those who think I am excessively blattering, I am not. I still think this game is far from perfection, has a lot of annoying bugs and a lot of things I would make different. But even being a defective one, it is the best mobile game I ever played.

I prefer honesty such as: i don't want to buy points. But the "i'm poor, i can't afford $1" sounds so idiotic when you are able to cover an internet connection cost + phone + i guess you wear underwear and have a drink from time to time.

oh btw you don't even need to purchase $ to help out. All you have to do is click on those ads from time to time. At least is something. The system is not cheap to maintain

With all due respect, it was kind of like sticker shock for me. I've been playing for a long time now so I should pony-up the cash. Yes Zup you deserve to get paid, it is a great game. But consider that I have about $27 US invested as of now and had the top performance planes, to buy the top Allied and max out my new DVIII will cost me about $150 US more. I am not sure how long it would take me to earn the coin without paying real $. I'm done whining now

If it is true, Zup, I am going to change my mind about all these recent posts I made. Jeez, I spent some money last year on this game, and after reaching moraf, I was about to do it again (before even knowing about these new planes). Then I loged-in with my moraf account, to spend my 2 milion credit points on that german top plane, and it was not enough credit to make all the upgrades...

I didn't pay attention on how much money one needs to spend to buy 3 million credits (what I believe would be enough to have the best planes both sides), but by reading what bware wrote, I am going to be honest with you, Zup: if what bware wrote is true, it is quite an expensive price to pay!

I will even need to reconsider what I wrote on XDA forum about this game (read this , please).

I've never bought coins, mostly because I like to earn what I want, but I will eventually, because I want to help keep the game going!

A few points:
1) Saying you can't pay $1 when you have a smartphone to me is like going to a 5 star hotel and saying you don't give a $1 tip because you are poor.

2) How can it cost $150 for a top tier plane?? You are assuming you arrive to a top rank with 0 points and 0 savings, which is never the case as far as I know. From my calculations when you arrive to the rank to be able to purchase the specific plane, you should be able to buy the plane and some more without much problem. Otherwise let me know so I can rebalance the game/points system. I never intend any plane to be that expensive in real $

I must agree that this title is a little taking the piss, Zup has worked hard to create this and people have the balls to say "I've never bought coins!" On Zup's forum? Wtf? Would you do a years work for someone and find it funny when they jump around in front of you cheering that they haven't paid you anything?

To point out that you value this game, experiences and 'friendships' at the £2.99 / $6 / €5 you paid for lifetime access is taking the piss in my book.

I can't afford much, but I have bought coins and I will again one day as I do believe that Zup and Co. deserve something back....

I just asked if it was true the amount of money (US$ 150) required to buy the points needed to have those top planes.

Now I am at home, I opened the game to check the prices. I see that 5 milion points costs 99 bucks. In Brazilian currency, is about R$ 220,00 - not including the taxes, that goes around 30%. Its a lot of money for young players to spend with a mobile game. It is the price of a high-end PS4 title.

With 1 million points, you need to spend 450,000 on the plane, plus 7 upgrades costing 225,000 each, what makes 2,025,000 points. This is the cost of ONE plane. In US$, two milion points costs around 64 bucks.

The fact is: I reached Moraf some weeks ago, with around 1,700,000 points on my account. I spent almost every point on my top german plane and some upgrades (I still need to upgrade some specs). So, an average player like me would need to play almost two years to be able to buy just one top plane fully upgraded. For two planes, at least three years would be needed...

Of course, the idea is to "force" the player to spend some real money to accelerate the process.
That's the spirit, I am one who encouraged people to pay to play once in a while. But to be honest, needing 4 million points to have the two top planes is a bit much of a money.

I dare to make these statements to say that it is not a question of $1 or $5 bucks. We are talking about something as big as it would be that Elite thing. I repeat: as soon as I have my credit card back working, I am going to spend those 100 bucks I promised at the time of the kickstart initiative. But young players don't have this ammount of money to spend. And given the fact that these top planes are WAY stronger than normal planes, those who can't afford the top planes will be SPANKED until they lose interest and quit playing. That's my point.

I shelled out most of my 2,700,000 some coins for the two top tier German planes(reimbursement for D8?) And full speed 1 maneuverability on the D8.
Now I'm down to 40,000ish. With those cost you can figure to buy all new planes with full upgrades would require you to pay 99.99 for 5,000,000 with the free 2,500,000 plus any remaining points needed.

So 150 us dollars for one plane eh no I don't think so... all of them with full upgrades yea more likely.

Now with that said think of what new things and progress Zup and the team can make with the small amounts we pay?

Ok goes like this, and please correct me if I'm wrong:
I am rank 30. All planes are unlocked. I used the 1.5M coin I had and bought the D.VIII along with as many upgrades that coin amount allowed, there is still 5 upgrades available. The Sopwith Camel F1 cost 450000 coin and has 9 available upgrades at 225000 each. That totals 3.6M in coin. I have 125000. I would need to purchase 3.5M to cover expense. Best deal to do that is the 5M for $100US. I stand corrected, it would cost me $100 not $150. Or I could earn the coin by playing

Well, if you are going to earn all those points by playing prepare to play full time, 24/7 - like Davy Crockett and some other top players. If you play like normal people, wou will need 3 years.

Just wanted to say that I agree with Ped, and I must say that I hope that the 99 $ buying option will not be a bad thing for the game.

May be it is a new stage in this game, players will have to think more before buying a plane, compare the differents models and upgrades, and will give us the opportunities to build new strategies.

May be one day Zup will upgrade the game with an option to sell a plane to help to buy a new one, etc ...

I insist: hope I am wrong, but I really fear that young players quit playing after being spanked by those aces and other players with top planes. Zup worked hard to make this game more well known, we helped him to recruit more players to the comunity, and now these high prices may do the opposite thing...

Hi, I didn't bought any coins in the game even once. I just keep killing and killing until I can earn enough coins for the planes. The reason is that I'm still just a teenager and have no knowledge on how to purchase IAPs in any app game.

I think you've got something there ped. I was showing my kids, who both play, the new planes and the costs. They asked about the performance and I showed them the cost of the upgrades. Their eyes glazed over and they seemed to just kind of let go. I guess that unless I fund them I'm going to be the only flyer of my family again.

That's what would be so nice about having a pre 1917 server and an all ww1 server. My kids could still fly without getting their faces smashed into the dirt by MORAF s (with superior planes) who get off on wasting lower ranks "....because it's a war game. If they don't want to get spawnkilled they need to man up and develop some skills".

Same here. I've been playing for about four years. So I felt like I should get back. Was up to 10,500,000 but spending money on the new planes I'm down to 6,250,000

I had $10,000,000 coins at you point, but blew it all on booze and women, now I have nothing! Im stuck with the slower planes, but I take full responsibility for my actions. King of Swag

hey superman I recently purchased 5million coins, your welcome, for $99.00 it said 5millions coins get 2.5 million free. But I never got the 2.5 million free coins. And I was going to buy 5million more for my second account but when I was ready to buy, google play store said I will be charged $147.50 tax can't be tht much so I decided not to purchase. I got to find out what I store charged me hopefully they did'nt charged me $150.00 bucks.i just tried again to purchase 5 million coins from goggle play store and now they said I will be charged $137.50 what the heck is going on.
