Dixie you might be too old already, but look into being a house or senate paige for your state legislature. A sponsorship from a rep or senator can greatly increase your chances of getting into a military academy.

I did this in 8th grade but ended up going the civilian pilot route.

I am in 8th grade I read in West Point website that you are supposed to have recommendation and apply in 11th grade. If i don't go to West Point i can still become officer the way my uncle and grandpa did.
