Although I have played for a long time I rarely go on the firms to chat or see whats going on. I will try find time to look more often and get more familar with what goes on. As someone had mentioned before many of the players take this game very seriously which I can now see. Regarding an appoligy I always say"sry" if I hit a team mate. If I didnt then I appoligize for that. One of the MOD's mentioned trolling as a potential banded offence. Has that happened before?

Thanks for posting. So we can see that PhantomMagentaBaron needs to be banned from the forum for stalking a forum member and trolling his account. Did you catch his game name, or screenshot the world chat? It has scrolled off.

Yes, several forum posters have been banned from the forum for abusive (and inappropriate) posts. It doesn't happen often, but I can think of a few. Most common are players that were banned for some reason or another and then came on the forum demanding to be reinstated, becoming very hostile and belligerent.

Just to be helpful and in no way trying to pick on you, I want to point out Wig's post. He stated that he booted you for spawnkilling him from a tank in a Dog Fight/FFA (free for all) mission. This is the only spawnkilling that seems to be universally accepted as a "bannable" offense. Please realize that some Mods have different standards and make judgement calls on what they consider bannable. Each situation is usually judged on its own merit. The only real "rule" I've seen about what is bannable is that, "you can be banned for any 'game ruining' offense". So, depending on the situation one act could be game ruining or not.

For example, most (definitely not all) players will agree that spawnkilling from a plane while you are inbound with a bomb is acceptable. However, staying around after you bomb and killing planes at the spawn point is "game ruining". See the difference? One of the reasons tank spawnkilling is considered "bannable" is that there is no defense. If you're on your strip with your brakes on, you're immune from bullets (and spawnkilling). The same defense isn't available for tank shells (although, it is supposedly in the program).

Again, I am only trying to help explain what happened and why you were banned. I took the time to write all of this because there is not a real "rule book" for the game. I'm hoping this will help you and others.

That's INSANE. I can't see the ban tab anymore, but wow there must be a way to ban a forum account so that it cannot operate and be used to inflict any more damage. Mods, can one of you raise the subject on the mod forum? Someone must know, or maybe Z can ask the forum hosting company.

Possible but then he would have to go and alter forum configuration and would take a while. Zup has better things to do. Plus pming a forum banned person has come in handy when Dpigg changed and had him unbanned a few months ago. He could delete the whole profile from the forum and website but then it would allow magenta could make a new one. So just ignore him

Yes good points Dix. I was hoping it might be an easy setting choice. I moderate a yahoo group, and we can ban a forum member and yet hold his email address in permanent ban records. People can get around that, but it's better than simply deleting the login which allows the email to be used again.

But the dpigg example is a good one.

As I remember it, I SK'ed you several times on my way towards bombing the carrier (I find this perfectly acceptable and anyone who does so to me is welcome to do so) and perhaps a few more times to make my retreat. It wasn't gratuitous. However, what you oh so conveniently left out of your telltales was your immediate swearing at me for *tactical* spawn killing. No trying to reason, you just pottymouthed me and then left. THAT is why I later team-killed you, shortly after you left in a huff. I don't like being sworn at.

And you talk of poor sportsmanship. Pfft.

RichyRoo, if you are really going to get so uppitty about a little bit of spawnkilling (99% of my kills are legit) you could have at least mentioned that you jumped straight to swearing at me about it.
