Hi

As I posted on the announcement section this morning, I'm moving some servers to new providers. Unfortunately since the new provider has never been tested, I need help to know whether they are better or worse than before. So I need your input, the steps are simple:

1) You need to be a subscriber so you can pick the different zones. No subscribers can't help on this one.
2) Go to the world map, wait for 30 seconds so that it picks up all the servers (by default it has the old ones).
3) Pick the server that is nearest to you. If you are in Europe, don't pick Asia! Pick the one closest to you. Check the speed bar, whether it's green, yellow or red.
4) Just play on that server

Now, this is the info I need:

What type of connection do you have? (adsl, fiber option, just over the air 3g from the phone...)
What server did you pick (don't tell me artois, tell me south asia... I need to location not the server name)?
Where are you geographically located?
Speed was green/yellow/red?
How did the game go? Was it better than the past days? The same? Slow like a sored snail?
Lastly, is there any other zone that displays better speed and seems to work faster than the one nearest to you?


This should help me tremendously to try to figure out which provider works best and which ones to get rid of.

I played one game im in canada went to us server it was green with speed and capacity game i have cable internet 40 mbs down 10 up its still laggy but way better than over weekend it was taking 10 shots to kill planes i put 450 into one plane and then ram him head on he flew right though me and bombed it seems alot of the brazillian players are like this zup i was told by one thier internet infastructure is very poor hope this info helps Roy

Seemed better. Shots were registering quicker. Game had six players which is the point that it would get laggy before. Lag shots were all but eliminated (used to be that if you were killed in a tank, you'd have at least one lag death. That didn't happen. Only one hole in my windscreen).

I'm in Western Canada and picked the Vimy(western U.S.) server. Seemed a bit better, but there were players in the game from India and Brazil in it. The guy from India was lagging.

So can't say for sure if people aren't going to stay in their own servers while you're trying to figure this out.

I'm playing in the UK on a Nokia Lumia 520 Windows Phone on update 4.4.91 (Windows update 1.0.0.61). I use a WiFi connection.

I logged on to the Europe server for a bomb the base mission with 4 other players. Unfortunately, I couldn't play because there was about a second lag between tilting the screen and the steering inputs reaching my plane. This also was happening before the server changes. Both capacity and speed were green.

I also tried playing on the West US server (green capacity, yellow speed). Bomb the base again with 6 other players. This time plane control was perfect but the sound was breaking up and was like a stuck CD at times. Some minor lag but better than it has been. Unfortunately after about 3 minutes the picture froze for a second and then the game closed. That's been happening a lot recently.

I played again us server there was a out 5 seconds of lag from shot to kill also the chute seems to apear above the plane as u go over it and you hit the chute wichh shouldnt be there i think the chut apearing above the planenis lag related too

Same details as my previous post. Just tried the Europe server again (green & green).

Bomb carrier mission with 4 others. Sound was breaking up again but plane control was ok. Unfortunately, after only about 40 seconds, the game closed again.

Ipad2, latest apple OS, dogfight 4.4.92. Wifi 15 mbps down 9mbps up. Live central US, played easterb US, green and green. No lag until game went to seven players. Then teganap lagged almost unkillable for a while. Dont know where he is from. No others lagging that i could see. Numbers went down to 6 and teganap lost his lag and was very killable.

Joined the East Asia server, both bars green. Seven people were in the game and no real discernible lag except that it did take about 3-4 seconds for some (note, not all) kills to be registered.

Just played Europe again from the UK. Both indicators green. Bomb the base mission with 6 others. Perfect sound; perfect plane control. Couple of seconds lag in registering kills but otherwise fine.

Western U.S., I live in Texas. Use home wifi on iPad. Both bars were green. Bad lag though not as bad as last few weeks.

Eastern U.S. I live in Michigan use AT&T WiFi for my Kindle HDX had almost no lag
Update. Was in a bomb the base all was well then overseas player shows up and lagfest kicks in

Had no problems and actually had some of my best games ever this morning, at a time I would have had to avoid before

Here is everything you need to know:

- Fiber optic
- East US
- Located in northeastern US
- Speed was green
- Played a few games and its THE SAME AS BEFORE. Just like b4 one game may be better than others but then i will have that horrible game where everything is wrong with the only exception being the invisibles. That part seems almost 100% fixed (very seldom will i get 1 in a game)
- i only played in East US. I cant tell you how the other zones are.

Played a protect the zep and btc. Protect the zep almost no lag. Btc..only one pilot had about a five second lag. No lag with the rest. Played west US, kindle fire hd 8.9 high speed WiFi and from east Texas.

Two games, same thing happened. One bth and the other a ctf. After playing for about 15-20 minutes everybody disappeared. In the bth game it continued to go on (Reds won. Found this out by talking to RT in wc after the match) so it wasn't something where everybody got kicked. In the ctf game I had picked up the flag and shortly after that everybody disappeared. In the bth game everybody disappeared right after I got past the tank line. The lag was bad in both with 7 or more players. Less than that and it was fine. This was between 4-5 MST.

Just a thought here but I don't believe zup has actually moved to the new servers yet, I could be wrong... But if you read his post on the lag issue thread he mentions that he will be moving to new servers during the week and I do believe during that move some servers will have to be shut down. At least that's how the last two moves to new servers worked.

Played 2-3 games tonight. Used the west coast US server. I live in Texas. I use WiFi to connect to fiber optic connected router. Server was one green bar in each category for all games. Lag was noticeable. Almost 30 seconds at one point.

Ok, 3 servers were replaced/moved yesterday.
Europe (new provider)
West US (new provider)
Asia (new provider)

For what I can see nobody complained about Europe, so it seems good to go.
West US seems better from the comments, although random hiccups (those are ok, the internet is not 100% fast 24/7)

Complains seem to come mostly from East US now. I'll give it a few more hours to get a full 24 hours round.

IMPORTANT: remember to wait about 30 seconds on world map before connecting to the server, otherwise you may be connecting to the old ones.

Ive flown on east asia, but i see europeans on there too, ignoring their lag, it seems good. Vimy was good too

I just played a game on the new East US server. As far as I could tell there was no lag, all shots registered immediately and the gameplay was very smooth.

Played three games this morning. Western US server. No lag even when players that i know from asia came into the game. None of. The games exceeded 5 players at any time.

Something i have noticed is that lag seems to get worse if the number of players goes above 6. Number 7 will come in and lag goes to 15-20 seconds. And this affects players who have been in the game also, not just the new player. After the number drops back to 6 or less the lag goes away again.

I haven't RE subscribed yet, but I thought I should mention that in 2 games in a row 1 player was lagging so bad that I could dump 100 + rounds into him, go back reload and still shoot him. I would take 3-4 minutes for him to die Luckily he was new so not super deadly, but ive never seen lag kills that bad EVER. I think his name was ale003, my whole team couldn't kill this one player. Other reds were fine.

yeah, that's something I can't control. If one player has a horrible connection I can't throw a wire down to his apartment in whatever china village he may be...
so occasionally you may get random players who are on a village, or playing from a subway with a connection the speed of 2400 modem.

Zup, how about limiting sides to three? Would that help at all? Most players have been commenting on the reduced lag with fewer players.

East US. I am in Atlanta Ga. Using Att uverse. Showed green on capacity and speed. Got about 25 minutes in and all of a sudden could not see anybody.

Possibly just ping peoples accounts. If they are too slow, no play?
