New folks usually find it's best to be and stay nice. Why? Earns respect as you work as a team in the game and eventually find that a Squad might take notice and invite you to join.

Prepair your self for living daily with less sleep, less social activity (except the virtual kind), if your married or have many friends give them a heads up you will not be yourself and its impossible to sat for how long..... been here oing on 3 years ...... youll become used to it.

Some advise: Always carry your charger!!!!!

Heres the thing. Im trying to be nice. All im getting in return is people accusing me of being too good. If yall dont want to believe my story and believe ur own stories of me being some other person playing on a second account. Im the kind of person I will be respectful, but to a limit. Im not going to bow down to people so they can keep kicking durt in my face. I came here expecting tjis forum to be like the forum on R.O.F. Everyone accepted me over there rather quickly, no questions asked beside how are u and how do u like the game.

Thank u Mr Raptor. I couldnt agree more. Im being friendly, but every time I fly, "im cheating, im hacking, im way to good for my rank" bla bla bla.

I didnt come here to become a popular target, I came here cause when I started the game, everyone was nice. I figured id give the forum a whirl and check it out. That was ok at first. But then people started saying I know to much, im too good, im to friendly. Im in a dead end either way I go. I feel like im being pinned in a corner here. Its quickly running me away from this forum.

I dont want to take up your thread here Phantom, so ill make this my last post and wish you luck, and hope you stay.

The forum is a totally different animal. My experience with the forum is that it has its moments, good and bad. If you have an opinion on any subject youll find that someone will gladly make the piont of difference and some are quit popular and get tons of thank yous, making it seem that you have offended the holly sacred grand poopa of dogfight...... when in fact its just thankyous suppoting them in hopes to fall in favor of the poopa..... weak and silly when you remeber its a game, but it happens... alot.
the other side of forum is you can learn alot from folks who have some great skill. Youll also find those folks willing to help a newer player out are for the most part the genuine good players who like to see the game move forward as a game and not a popularity contest.... there are tons of guys and girls here who are very willing to give help when asked, they make the game worth playing.... unfortuneately they dont post much on forum, for obvious reasons that were mentioned above. Youll gain respect by playingna fare game and not by posting here or anyowhere else on forum..... Play your game the way that suits you and let the cards fall where they may....

So what is put posted here is very different from the chats in game, you can pretty much forget whats said here as non implicating tot he game ..... with the exception of a few perma band players but they arnt important and you really have to try to get to that level.

Leave the forum if it rubs you wrong man its not important to the game reguardless of what you may have been told.

I liked your first post and wanted to welcome you, and still do. My piont is that to have something like your first post go so far south is unfortunately something that happens alot, and has nothing to do with you....

So shake it off Phantom come back to the game and have the fun thats there waiting....

Hey Silver! You seem like a pretty bright guy. Take it easy buddy, and just try to enjoy the game. Raptor has nailed it for you, take his thoughts and consider them. He's a great guy in the community, as so many others are.
The community itself is one of the biggest things that keeps me comin back.

Watching you on your second night, I was there for several accusations. I defended you several times.

I love that you took the initiative to be willing to make that post. Unfortunately, as Raptor said, the forum and the game are totally separate entities in many ways. I got lost when he started talking about "Poopas", but he's right. This forum is why many of us still play. It certainly is for me.

I've had my share of squabbles, hackussations, and people emailing the developer about me. I did a lot of sticking my prop where it didn't belong early on, and it got me in some hot water with some cool people.

Just take it easy, mate. Learn to play the game your way.

This forum is why squadrons are so great. Squadrons don't actually mean anything (for now,) but being on the best squad in the game (yes, swop, I know) has really enhanced my experience.

The main lesson I've learned here: Don't just take people's word for something. Actually explore things here yourself. Become your own player, with your own style, and your own personality. M.O.M. loves everybody a lot of people just the way they are. Until you join another squad. Then you're dead to us.

I've made it no secret that I like you and respect your clear skill. Stick around a while, and have some fun.

Welcome phantom, the DF veterans around here tend to not be able to fathom a newer player having their way with them not realizing as in my case as well, that we may have been playing flight combat games longer then they have, but on a different game.

The best advice I can give you, having been in your shoes, is to just don't respond and at the least stay respectful, and if you feel vengeful just make that pilot your sole purpose for flying til the game ends or they leave.

If you carry yourself the right way and be "above the drama", with your skills you'll catch on with a top squad quickly and earn the respect of the DF vets. Just keep at it and in time it will come, many have played here 2-4 years (or since the internet was invented.... cough 420), so it takes more than a week or a month to earn their respect, no matter how good you may be

First: Play the GAME and have fun;

Second: About FORUM, use only when needed or for squadron business...

Hi silver, I've flew with u and u are really good for ur rank, but I agree with hb.. there's many players that start a 2nd account. I say just ignore 5 hem and have fun, after all this is a game right? Lol. Welcome to df and I do believe I was one of the few that did say hi in a game lol. Maybe one day soon we cud fly together again, until then, don't let ppl get u d9wn.. chin up

You are more than welcome here. Ignore the negative comments, they will come from a few(just a fraction) of the players here if you present yourself as being skillful in the skies. There are lots of awesome people here, from all walks of life. Make new friends. Just be patient and don't be hasty to leave. I don't think I had the privilege of flying with you as yet.
