I am probably among the first set of players approaching level 31 from when the plane prices increased drastically last summer. When I first started it was under the old cost scheme, but with a few weeks of playing the costs went up dramatically. Even to get an se5 and fully upgrade it was about a million; which is more than you would probably earn in the top four ranks put together. I bought a couple sets when I couldn't take the red brick anymore and bought the upgrades for the albatross d3, now a lower tier plane. I think it will be nearly four million to buy the five planes I don't have and upgrade them.

Ive never bought coin, I upgrade a-la kill, to be honest I cant afford new planes after I upgraded the existing ones, couldnt really see the point in paying for a paintjob that only I can see properly (it all looks the same when its on fire and falling from the sky - I do that a fair bit) so for now with all these "I been robbed" statements out there - well im gonna sit on mine and let it mature until I get enough for better planes.

I buy coins, I didn't use any to upgrade my planes, did them all on kills, but I buy coins to support Zup for all the good work he does here. We even had buy coins day to support Zup earlier in the year.

And I was going to buy 5million more for my second account but when I was ready to buy, google play store said I will be charged $147.50 tax can't be tht much so I decided not to purchase. I got to find out what I store charged me hopefully they did'nt charged me $150.00 bucks.i just tried again to purchase 5 million coins from goggle play store and now they said I will be charged $137.50 what the heck is going on.

As for the 5 million+2.5 million points... I have no idea how to explain it better because lot of people gets confused with that.
It's a buy 3 for the price of 2 thing. If you buy 25000 points ($0.99) now if you buy 250,000 points how much should that be? 10 times more. $9.99. But it is not. You are probably paying something like $7. So you are getting $3 free which is 75,000 points free.
Do the same math for the 5,000,000 points and you'll see you are paying only for 2,500,000 and the other half you get it free.

Any idea how to word it better on the buttons? Buy 5 million for the price 2.5 million is a bit too long to put on a button.

I think the problem was not the price increase but the lowering of the required rank. For instance to fly an albatros d5 you need to be rank 17... so at that point you had enough savings to purchase it.
I lowered all required ranks, so you pretty much can have all planes after rank 10... but of course you have no savings.

So... what do i do now? I can raise all required ranks a bit so people will have savings for sure but they will have to wait to get the planes. Or allow them to buy them earlier but they may get pissed they are so "expensive".

I say let them buy them if they want. it encourages those can can afford it to spend some money that helps to fund the game, and it's not that big a disadvantage to those that can't (I flew in the SPAD for ages until I coudl afford and fully upgrade the SE5 and it didn't hurt my KD ratio at all).

I think that's right, no fix needed. Understand though that there will be a lot of MORAFs in mid tier planes for a good while. At the rate of play I figured three months to rank up for the 375k points, and that's approximately equivalent to the earning funds rate, so three months per plane, plus another four to five for the upgrades. I was so happy to get out of the red brick before and so unhappy to be back in it that I'll probably buy up on the German side just to get in something else that doesn't have the battle profile of a mobile home.

I think everyone can afford coins I did it I spent 25-30$ and sorry I'll admit it I used the windows glitch so I got all my planes maxed for only 25-30 but when I get money again I will donate more its just I lost my job (not a job that keeps me alive in only 15)
