Please take a look at the truck and give me your opinion on the make and year.

This truck was caught on my security cameras breaking car windows of our tenants.

We believe the truck is a ford ranger from the early 90s

The reason I'm putting it on dogfight forum is because we have several very smart people here who may know the answer.

The dealership was not completely sure. Cd has been turned over to the detectives.

Looks like a GMC--from the logo on grill, but hard to make out.
Could be Ford...but still looks more like GMC--plus the roof overhang.

It's either a 1997 or 1996 ranger

Thats a black helicopter painted to Ford Ranger. I have never seen them do that before.

Here's a 1998 Ford Ranger, regular cab (I think it's definitely a regular cab of something, but the '98+ Ranger looks really close):

Here's a 1993-1997 Ford Ranger body. Looks pretty good too, but I'm leaning toward the 1998+ body:

The older GMC light pickups have pretty big grills and I didn't find one that looked like this grill. The newer GMC's have the GMC logo toward the top half of the grill, and your picture looks more centered. Toyota Tacoma's ~a decade ago have grills and headlights very close to the top line of the front face, and your picture looks like it's all dropped down at least a little bit from the hood; same thing for Chevy Silverado's, and they are also thicker looking than your picture. A 2000'ish Mazda B Series pickup was close, but I think the Ranger is closer. ~1998 Isuzu Hombre is also close, but again, the Ranger seems closest.

I'm with Spectre, this is an early GMC S-15 sonoma.

The video is much clearer but taking still photos is not as clear, still the exact make and model is open to interpretation.

This morning i am sending it to a special crime photo enhancement company that thinks they will be able to really do some good.

Whatever the case it's a distinctive truck, probably not many around and the knoxville police says they are not very interested in doing any footwork. I told the detectives that my property taxes alone are over 20 grand a year and they had better well do something. I am very pissed right now. I will get these creeps. If possible maybe i can have my brother upload the video.

It looks like a GMC Sonoma to me. The shape of the grill doesn't look like a Ford to me. There are some GMC s that look just right.

What are they hauling in the back? Something big and white.

My first thought was something to unspool wire.

What ever it is, it sticks up as high as, or a bit higher than the top of the cab. Hangs just over the tailgate.

GMC. Crome mirrors, 2 tone paint. May have a sun shade that sticks out over the front window.

GMC logo is bigger than Ford and mirrors mount higher on the door.

Yes there is sunshade.

Look at the reflection on mirror. It doesnt look like rangers mirrors.

I would place my bet on (maby early)90's Gmc.

My guess is a '99 Sonoma. GMC

I don't think they 2 toned any of that body style. I Think it's the body style just before that one. Mid 80s may be.

The truck looks like it has custom accessories, mirrors, paint, wheels, visor. The object in the bed looks like a person or people. Upload that video, or if you have any other pictures

Looks to me like an 80s GMC or Chevy.

Good catch on 2wd! I think the radius' in the center grill corners make it newer than that.

As the owner of 12 ford pickups in my life i can confirm it is indeed o ford, it is body style 96 to 2001, prior to that, ford rangers had sunken square headlights, after they had rectangular wraparound with the indicators built in to the lens as shown above, early 90s fords had square headlight/lens combos, I tend to think that the ranger in the pic is closer to 2001 as it seems to have a honeycomb grill, which wasn't on the rangers untill late 2001 prior to the body style change in 2002..... It is also a single cab with bucket seats, if that is indeed a honeycomb grille, and most Likley 4WD judging by 1sp trim package, if i am correct it is also a stick shift

I sent the video to UNITED STATES FORENSICS, a company that will re-do the video. It cost a pretty penny but I will get these guys and sue the crap out of them.

The county and city are absolutely useless, I'm very disappointed in them to say the least.

We will put the new video here, on u tube and it will air on the local tv in approx 2 days

I think you got it Spectre/Jacob. Squared off rear of cab and the overhang past the rear wheels match the photo. The pic seems to show chrome mirrors; GMC offered them. Also, it looks two tone, and I'm not 100% but I don't think the later Ford Rangers(90's and newer) came two tone. If they did, it wasn't popular.

Im no truck expert but that is definately the Pilsbury Doughboy in the bed.

Here is another retouch to supliment Manfred's.

It kind of looks like the whole right front end is low. Flat tire or body damage maybe? That could be an illusion, as well as the roof overhang.

We have posted 2 youtube videos showing the truck that was caught on video throwing rocks. Please take a look at them and tell me what you think. We will be turning the videos over to the T.V. Stations today, it's a unique truck, someone will know it. We are looking for sure a Chevy s10 early 90s we believe however we can see a GMC symbol on the tailgate (we think)
