Dave, thanks for the perspective. I obviously took exception to the bible thumping and can admit I probably took it too far. My comment was out of line and hereby apologize to Tin Baron and General Jack (who I obviously offended). I don't know who did it, they never PMed me.

I have my personal beliefs, just like everyone else. Contrary to popular belief they're not of an atheist or agnostic nature. I've been burned by those that claim to be "Men of God" and inherently mistrust and harbor less-than-friendly feelings towards most who claim that title. I'm bitter and I let that out any time someone throws their religious beliefs in my face. I certainly feel that's what was done with the earlier posts that set me off. I admittedly held a grudge. It's done and its over (in my book). I'm letting it go.

I worked for a baptist association every summer while in high school as a lifeguard for the camp facilities. (BSA lifeguard cert parrot...). I've known plenty of the types you speak of, but I've known plenty of very sincere men and women too. I just didnt think slapping 666 on tin was a good way to do much of anything. Everyone has their beliefs. I get that, but as long as he doesn't bombard every thread on here with them, I don't care what he wants to discuss. Sorry if I seemed harsh Parrot, but at least I'm honest.

Oh good gravy! Did I step in it again? I by no means meant those of faith are bad people. There are plenty of folks that mean and do well in their service and beliefs. Unfortunately, I didn't get that from my experience. My life (my entire childhood and well into my adult years) in church opened my eyes to a lot of hypocrisy. After the blindfold was off, I saw the hate, bigotry, intolerance and injustice that was being fed to the congregation and greedily accepted with assenting "Amens!" and "hallelujahs" . Also unfortunately, I look for that whenever I see or hear religious messages. I'm damaged in the faith department, I admit and accept that. My contempt is for man and not God. I also understand my attitude is not popular and I don't often voice it u less in retort.

I see fine things done everyday in the name of God. I realize there's good people with good intent out there.

You didnt step in anything. I struggled for a good while with the exact things you are talking about. Still do to a point, but I've found my own ways to be happy with my situation. I'll take any further to PM though.
