Paul, just a suggestion, why instead of the $50k don't make a less heavy pledge?
I mean, if they think you are crazy, don't go for $50k, you can make the $1k for a custom airplane or something like that. I doubt anyone would judge you for it and it will also help the project better than nothing

I can't kill ALL the people that think I'm nuts. Most are correct and most are friends. I'd spend the rest of my life going to funerals & I hate to dress-up.

Z, I'm still working on something in addition to my 1st smaller pledge. I'm also twisting some arms......

There's also some other organizations and foundations I'm involved in that are experiencing hardships in the current economic climate. Each has to be evaluated. Every year about this time we go through a bit of this. This year I decided to up the funds to some and all have to be addressed.
