How do you become a moderator? What do they do? I've wanted to know but nobody just tells me. Is it secret?

Please allow me to put an end to this madness. In order to be a moderator, a number of things need to take place. First, there must be an open moderator position that needs to be filled. Second, you need to have the credentials that would qualify you for the position. Third, you would need to be selected, or at least recommended for the position by the other mods and maybe the community as a whole. The people who currently fill the positions were selected because of there long standing and or extremely active participation in this game and forum. They do an amazing job of policing the game, helping new players acclimate, and many things that take place behind the scenes. They get nothing for their efforts except the pleasure of dealing with foul mouthed players, people who make every effort to ruin the game for others, and listening to people complain about everything. Please stop asking if you can run for moderator. There are no elections at this time. Just keep playing the game and some will get back to you when a position opens up.

It really seems you want to become a moderator. Well I'm afraid z has just chosen a few a couple months ago. You'll have to wait until a decent amount of them leave or he decides we need more of them. But for now you'll have to wait.

The true definition of a moderator can be described as: one who presides over a meeting, gathering, or debate. In terms of the Internet, a forum moderator is pretty much the same thing. They make sure the forum and game, and its players, continue to behave smoothly. They keep the forums clean of disorganization and troublemakers. Same goes to in-game as well. If you break the rules, a moderator will be the person who corrects you (by a fair warning or a fair/not-so fair ban from their trusted judgement). Yes, they can ban you from playing the game or participating in the forums.

So fear them.

Anyways, to be frank, you are a long ways away from being a moderator for this game, bud. First of all, you've got to be a respectable player/member who's fairly internet-savvy. The lone fact that you didn't know what a forum moderator was in the first place proves my point. Even if the latter were true, you've got to be (or at the very least, act like you are) over the age of 18.

I assume you want to be a moderator to HELP the forums, not because you want the power of a Ban Button, yes? Well, here's some good news. You don't HAVE to be a moderator to help the forums. You'll see that as you develop your reputation here.

Oh, and don't listen to Paul. He hasn't had his bath yet, and we all know how he gets when that happens. I believe it's Sputnik's turn.

Sorry dixie I am also 14 almost 15 and when I get old enough and the need a mod I will apply within seconds because I've already been playing 2 or 3 years so I will have been playing this game for 6 or 7u years. I would be in the same position 420 was in when the fourm started. Over 18 long history and respected. I mean I know the game very well and I do know what's best for it in terms of behaveure.

You want to know what I think? I think the both of you want to be mods just to "be a mod". You think that being a mod would be an opportunity for you to gain attention and respect.

I don't think any of the current moderators asked (repeatedly, if I may add) to be a moderator. They offered their sincere help.

So, stop thinking that mods are all-powerful players with the cool ability to ban people. No, being a moderator is a responsibility. It's about helping people. Not about thinking about yourself and your reputation.

Before you go around asking to be a moderator, ask yourself first; "What have I done to help this community? What can I do to make the forums and the game a better place?"

And let me tell you, being a moderator isn't the only option.
