He is a good player. Unfortunately when he does this he takes 25% of a teams strength away and lowers the morale of the rest of his team. Of course your team is in big trouble. But it's you. I have been in games where lower ranked players were holding off two and three top ranks with incredible determination. They get him and give up.

I don't however support a ban.

To play devil's advocate, Pluribus should not be banned for the crime of being Pluribus.

I have played thousands of games where any number of players on my side, for any number of reasons, are nothing more than dead weight.

To ban someone like Plur just because some find that he is the most annoying example of this phenomenon would mean that all the others should be banned too. The fairest solution, if people insist on one, is an auto-kick after x amount of idle play, as others have suggested. That solution comes from Z, not the mods. They already have enough to do.

So this topic started out asking if this is a bannable offense. Well, what makes an action bannable? Lets use team killing as an example. Everyone agrees this is a "bannable offense". Why? Because it ruins the gme for other players. It's pretty simple. So, does sitting on the runway or idle in the middle of the map ruin the game for others? I say yes. Just as with tea killing it only effects your own team and it gives the other team an advantage. In my book it's the same thing. If you are doing this on my team, I'm going to do everything I can to run you off, including taking a ban myself.

It's poor sportsmanship, rude and inconsiderate. I do not see this as the same as a "dead weight" player that cant help. At least they are tying. Until the game has a way to self moderate, by way of an idle player boot or something similar, this should be something we ask the mods to step in and help with. I don't think muting, but a temporary ban for repeat offenders is warranted. It is game ruining.

The mods already have plenty to deal with and I appreciate all they do. I am sorry to suggest one more thing y'all have to deal with.

Don't think he should be banned just muted. I think the mute would do him some good. Not worthy of a ban I agree totally. The no activity boot would be nice. I've played a bunch of games with him to and this is all I've ever seen outta him. The most annoying for sure.

Here's the next one I saw him in. Didnt get the shot I wanted of him sitting by my carrier burning and crying that I wanted after I shot him off the boat. 1 time I killed him and he quit. His TEAM won the game by the way. I switched sides when the game began so we were not on the same team. I won't play on his team.

Shame he's a good player when he want to be ,but like u been in many games when he gives up and sits on the sidelines and complains.

I think its funny when he sit inn the corner of the game and talking about the enemy is to strong. When i show him they are not

If your buttons are pushed & you can't do anything about it, you might try another mission. At least show humility & humanity. You might discover something new in your heart.

Sorry Paul but no I don't get it. Don't want to. Feeling sorry for ones self for any reason is beyond me. Acting like that in game or out for whatever reason there may be is not at all what I'm in to. Play hard, play to win, play as a team with your team or don't play at all. If you wish to give up then auto destroy and quit instead of subjecting us all to the negative vibes. I had several games with him that we all tried to get him motivated. It just don't work. Negative dude with a poor attitude. No one should have to leave a game because of him.

I would like to point out that I never mentioned any pilot's names in my original post to this thread.

Having said that, I saw a pilot playing a Destroy the Zep game a few days back sit on the runway and do nothing to help. Low and behold I get both engines and dump my last few remaining bullets into the structure. Race back to the airport and who do I see flying my way to "help"? Same pilot! Needless to say, the structure was soon toast as I watch it burn right before I get back into shooting range. Anyone else see this kind of behavior?

Final thought...I brought this topic up only half-serious. Of course, no one should be banned for these types of antics. I am a big believer in taking what the game gives you at the same time establishing my own code of ethics. I don't expect anyone else to follow my code and actually bristle when others try to force their code on me. BUT, it sure is good to vent every so often!

I've never seen that, but I have seen folk who should be protecting shooting the zep.

Ban. Ban. Ban. I've seen guys like this, and it's annoying as hell.
