We all hate you. All of us. All of you. We hate you for a simple reason. You simply feel the need to create more work for yourselves, which must annoy your employees, and certainly annoys us when it slows everything down. Have you noticed that the Android OS is quickly taking over your market share? That is because they are slightly less annoying.

Now, I'm not one to wish undue harm on anyone, but if you'd be kind enough to note the seventh word of this sentence, I'm sure that you will understand when I respectfully request that you swallow a firecracker.

Well, we don't hate them but definitely annoying they change things with no notification and no chance to disagree.
We spent the whole day yesterday trying to figure out what was going since we got flooded with "disconnecting" complains and 1 star reviews. We didn't change anything so it was driving us nuts. Since it worked for some (android) and didn't for others (iOS), we didn't realize it was device specific at the beginning and thought it may be based on their location due to hurricane Sandy.
Finally after 20 non-stop hours, looking at servers, changing code, printing all possible error messages (we weren't getting any errors on our end!) we realized that it was only an iOS issue. Began investigating it and found it. Modified the iOS code with the required changes and it works but now it's the second part: we cannot push updates fast with Apple, it has to go through them. On top of that they also asked for new screenshots on iphone 5 resolution before we could even submit the update, so it only delayed matters more because we didn't have any device (and it's sold out!) to do it.

All an adventure...

oh and btw, apple stopped all devs from supporting older devices so the new update won't work on them. basically anybody that has anything under an iphone 3gs won't get the update since they don't even allow us to submit it. in summary: if you have an iphone 2g or 3g you won't be able to play anymore on multiplayer

FYI, a lot of Droid users have reported an issue, too. I hate to make more work for you.... Get some sleep. Working with code after an all-nighter is going to give us flying ta.... wait, go mess with the code. Fix everything before you sleep. Fix things that aren't broken, like the fact that our tanks don't have wings. That needs fixing.

Yeah, you mentioned that. It sucks! I use an iPad, so it's fine for me, but I'll miss seeing some of the guys.... I know people who still use 1st gen Apple stuff for Dogfight.

Any chance that this sudden activity is an indication of you being on the forum more? It's helpful getting your input.

hmm Droid reported errors probably while we were testing. We rebooting the servers several times with changes trying to figure out what was happening and many people got disconnected and down time if they were playing on those servers.
We haven't seen an Android device not able to play when all servers are up right now.

I already sent the screenshots. They were asking for iphone 5 (not iPad). It just delayed it for us but we managed to get them and submit. There is nothing to do on our end right now but wait for them to approve the update.

How long do they take

Usualy

If they don't expedite it, between 1 week and 1 month (they took almost 3 months once). On average it's about 10 days.
If they expedite it, usually 24/48 hours. We are tons of players using Dogfight, so hopefully they do expedite it.

Ah. I wasn't sure what the resolution difference between them was, and if an iPad's would be good enough.
