I play once a week in a sort of shed full of musicians who somehow mould a jam together with the aid of a full sound system. I can play the trumpet, trombone, flute, harmonica, lead, rhythm/lead guitar, sax, drums, vocals, bass, zither, shaker, tambourine, trombone, didgeredoo, fiddle, chaos pad, keyboards, bongos, djembe, tablas, triangle, zilawotzit (EDIT: spoons) and fairly badly. Alto sax is my favourite choice but I own a trumpet and a few acoustic guitars. I try to write my own songs, I cant read music so I make it up or copy from tab to learn the moves.
I whittle wood. These are made from Birch and Hawthorne sticks. The Swiss Army knife 1" blade is all you need and to know how to keep it razor sharp. It helps to draw a rough outline of what you intend to create, onto the stick, as an initial guide, then start removing ever smaller shavings, following the gain, to achieve the end form.
